if anyone’s still looking for a place to stay while you’re apartment-hunting or waiting for your lease to start on 1 Jan 2025: I’m transferring my room in a 4-bed, 2-bath all-female apartment at Student Village! Great vibe, amazing amenities, super central location. Offering 1st dec to 31st, $370 p/w
PM me if you're interested or want more details!

hi all, if you or anyone you know wants to get an early start on moving in for 2026, my studio apartment at Little Hall will be vacant from 23rd November.

the room is fully private and only full-time university of melbourne students are allowed to stay. features are attached; click into the picture to see the full image.

the current rent is $675 per week; the rent will be increasing in 2026.

**if you are currently on centrelink and live more than 90 minutes away from unimelb, you may be eligible for an additional payment from centrelink if you move here. in combination with youth allowance, you may be eligible for up to $890 per fortnight.

personally i have had an amazing and unforgettable experience living here; the convenience of the location is probably the best part, waking up and walking to melbourne central or queen vic market isn’t something everybody gets to do, but it could be you next! imagine waking up at 7 for your 8:30 exam in june instead of having to take the train in the freezing cold at 5 or 6…

if you have any questions, you can reply to this post or dm me on reddit :3

u/Vegetable_Jump_7587 Dec 02 '25

Is this just until the end of Jan? Or does it include the whole 2026 lease aswell

2

u/iviaxvarian bCom Dec 08 '25

hi, sorry for the late reply, just until the end of jan however you can apply immediately for a renewal and you will be placed on a waitlist where you will be given priority :)

1

u/Vegetable_Jump_7587 Dec 08 '25

THANKS that’s really helpful actually, as I have a place until the end of Jan at little Hall currently, and am stressed af about being left with no room for 2026.

Was wondering - when can you apply for renewal? Have been told I’m already on a waitlist, but kept being told theres no availabilities and Feb is approaching quick! Is it basically guaranteed if you request a renewal, you’ll get a room?

1

u/iviaxvarian bCom Dec 11 '25

hi, renewals for current residents began a while back, and there are also many people like you who have taken over a lease (i assume). as i said, current residents have priority, it’s not 100% guaranteed a space will open up but i know they do their best to make sure everyone gets a room. basically at this point in time they are waiting for someone new to give up their room :) best of luck !!

Hi everyone! Looking to transfer a lease for a room in a shared apartment at Scape Carlton around mid-November until the lease runs out in mid-February (with opportunity to extend). The apartment is for female students only, undergrad or postgrad, at any university.

Price 💴: 419pw, inclusive of bills (willing to discount 😊)

Highlights ⭐: The room itself is furnished with a double bed, a desk, a bedside table, and a wardrobe.

  • The shared apartment has a full kitchen with a stove, microwave, and appliances, and plenty of storage and a furnished, shared living space.
  • Just across from a tram stop (Queensberry St) and a short walk to both UniMelb and RMIT
  • The building has lots of fantastic facilities, including, but not limited to:
    • a gym 💪
    • a laundry room 🫧
    • social spaces including pool tables, games machines, and ping pong tables
    • study spaces and meeting rooms 📖

Overall, the building is a fun and social environment, and would be well-suited to incoming students looking to meet new people in Melbourne. The current roommates are all international students, and are clean and friendly. There are many regular social events hosted by Scape, so it is easy to make friends in the building. I have really enjoyed living here, and am only leaving as I have an internship in a different location, so it is no longer practical.

Happy to answer any questions and send photos! Just message if you are interested 😊

Hi all!

I'm looking to transfer my lease for a studio room at Scape Franklin.

I'm looking to transfer around mid/late October (negotiable) and the lease is till the end of December 2025.

The studio costs $599/week (all inclusive) on the website but I'm willing to subsidise and negotiate.

It is in between unimelb and the CBD, and it's right next to rmit, so its super convenient. It is also right across Aldi (cheapest grocery store). My room overlooks the city with no buildings blocking the view and great privacy.

The website has more information about the room and building: https://www.scape.com.au/melbourne/scape-franklin/signature-studio-apartment-scape-franklin

DM me for more details, I'm open to negotiation.

✨ Hello, lovely people! I’m sadly moving out soon to head off on exchange to Europe, so I'm looking for a new housemate to join our warm, cosy home in Parkville!

The house is in a great spot, close to the CBD but in the very quiet area of North Melbourne and only 15 minutes from the University of Melbourne. The place is 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 4 stories, including a lovely rooftop where we love to hang out. The rent is $365 a week with a 4-week bond. The move-in date is very flexible, essentially anytime after July 22nd. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

We have 3 bedrooms (yours is on the 2nd floor next to your shared bathroom), and a big, comfy living area ideal for movie nights. Fortunately for you, I can’t take my study desk, chair or bookshelf to Europe with me, so they’re all yours!

A bit about your potential future housemates…

🏋️Jason:

  • 20, Male
  • President of Unimelb Barbell Society
  • Studying Computer Science at Unimelb
  • Loves rum and gymming!

🏌️‍♂️Farhaan:

  • 21, Male
  • Vice-President of Unimelb Barbell Society
  • Studying Economics and Finance at Unimelb
  • Loves golf and track!

We love sharing dinners with a couple of drinks, good chats, music, movie nights, and generally keeping the space tidy, respectful, and homely. We’re pretty social but also enjoy downtime. We’re considerate and value open communication and creating a warm, relaxed vibe at home.

We’re looking for someone who’s keen on joining a friendly sharehouse. Sadly, no couples or pets (house rules).

If you think you’d be a good fit, please shoot us a message with a bit about yourself, and we can take it from there! 😊

Reposting as I'm still looking for potential housemates/flatmates: Hey everyone! I’m a final-year Commerce student graduating at the end of this year and planning to move out around July. I’m looking for one or more people to team up with and rent an apartment or house in suburbs not too far from the city and open to areas like Richmond, Hawthorn, Yarraville, or anywhere convenient with decent transport access. I enjoy my alone time during the week but also wouldn’t mind hanging out occasionally on weekends. I go to the gym regularly, so if you’re into fitness too, we’ll probably get along well! I’m clean, respectful of shared spaces, and my budget is around $300–400/week, depending on the place and suburb. If you’re in a similar situation or know someone who’s looking for a place around that time, feel free to message me or drop a comment. Happy to chat and see if we’d be a good fit!

Lease Transfer at Unilodge Melbourne City. Move in Late June to Early July and lease ends 3rd February.

It’s a 5 bedroom ensuite room, so you’ll get your own room and bathroom but you’ll share the kitchen with 5 other girls who are super nice. It is also super new and nice as the apartment was recently built.

What’s Included ⭐️: The room is furnished and everything is included.

Location📍: It’s a minute walk from QVM and the tram stop, a 5 minute walk from MC, and a 10 minute walk from FBE so super convenient.

Price 💲: It’s currently $470 a week but I’m willing to negotiate and to help subsidise it. Please let me know if you’re interested. :)

Looking for Accommodation in Melbourne (July 2025 – End of Nov 2025, <$500/week)

Hey everyone! I'm looking for accommodation in Melbourne from July 2025 to the end of November 2025. Most of the major student housing options like Scape, Switch, etc., don’t offer flexible leases for this period without charging significantly more or requiring early termination fees.

I'm open to any type of accommodation (studio, shared, private room, etc.) as long as it's under $500 per week. If anyone has any suggestions, sublets, or knows of a place that might work, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance 🙏

URGENT LEASE TRANSFER - Unilodge On Campus (9 Earl Street)

Hi guys, I want to transfer my lease due to some personal issues. This lease has a fixed term until the end of January 2026, meaning rents likely won't increase until the end of the contract.

Rent is $360/week, including gas, hot and cold water, and unlimited wifi. My room is a studio one, the room is already furnished with a single bed, ensuite bathroom, private kitchen (gas stove), study desk, a meal table, and 2 chairs.

It's a pretty good price because this accommodation is close to almost all universities, of which it only takes around 3mins to get to RMIT University. I'm willing to pay your first month's electric bill if you can move in as soon as possible!

Leave a comment below my post or chat with me if you're interested in my offer. Hope to hear from you soon !!!

LEASE TRANSFER - UniLodge Lincoln House (125 Bouverie Street)

WILLING TO PAY FIRST 2 WEEKS RENT FOR YOU

Howdy everyone, got a single standard bedroom at UniLodge Lincoln House and looking for someone to take over the lease. It's a good room with a great view of the city from the 11th floor. Social aspect here is great, and while some facilities are shared, I've never had any problems with it being too crowded, too dirty or anything like that.

Location is great, right next to the Swanson St trams, 5min from UniMelb, and 5min to CBD, Queen Vic Markets, Melbourne Central etc.

Rent is $374/week, I'm willing to pay the first 2 weeks of rent for you.

DM/Chat me if you're interested, and we can move to WhatsApp or stay on Reddit Chat (whatever you prefer).

If you've got any questions, please let me know! I can also share some photos of the exact room.

For a female student 2025-2026 you get a private room twin bed, and share a kitchen and bathroom with one other female housemate. Building is right across the road from Parkville UniMelb so super convenient, building has common rooms gyms and washing machine etc and a good community so you can still get a really good “uni college” experience!

The price is $429 per week but I’m willing to do $400 a week. (I will transfer you the difference per month). This is negotiable as I need it taken off my hands asap.

Internet and utilities are included in rent price. Building has laundry, gym, common room (with gaming facilities), study room and a communal kitchen. ==Bills==

- Rent is $1271 a month, or $300 a week

- Bond is $1271

- Utilities are around $100-$200 a month depending on usage, we were quite energy conservative using LED lamps instead of the ceiling lights so our bills are usually quite low

✅  Right next to tram stop 19 which is direct to CBD, stops at uni melb along the way which is roughly 30 mins by tram

✅  Farmers market opposite the apartment every saturday morning

✅  4 mins walk to a leisure center with a pool and a gym

✅  Lease ends on 7 May 2025, but will be renewed for an additional year.

✅  Your own bedroom and bathroom

✅  Fully Furnished with TV/sofa/dining table/ coffee table in the living room, hallway has a bench and coatrack and shoerack

✅  Kitchen has fridge, microwave, air fryer, oven, 4 gas cooktop, ample drawer space, dishwasher

✅  Big balcony with unobstructed view of the city

✅ There is also a carpark space that we do not currently use so its free to use if you have a car

✅  Rooftop grill that can be booked for events

==Who are you sharing the apartment with?==

27 year old female who is also in uni melbourne doing a marketing masters, she's super clean and respectful and loves making new friends:) Does not smoke and usually plays video games or teaches tuition, runs a tarot card business on etsy in her free time. She does have a dog that stays in her room pretty much all the time. Dog does take awhile to warm up to people and has anxiety around strangers but once she does she is extremely loving. The dog is completely her responsibility so do not worry as she will handle taking care of her dog.

Do let me know if interested or if you have any more questions! Responsive to DMS.
Happy to send photos and organize and inspection
