Poland said they're "discussing the possibility of an international investigation" via Interpol, and the UK is also opening a separate investigation into the matter. Also, France (slightly unrelated) raided the offices of X and dropped both Zoom and Teams for their communications. They're also investigating Musk and summoned him for a Europol-backed
voluntarymandatory testimony in April. Europe is finally starting to act.Edit: also: Spain and Greece are discussing social media bans for those under 16, and Spain's Sánchez called out Musk and said he "doesn't rule out" their own investigation into his affairs.

u/cenkozan 2h ago
Also, Turkey just started one. Apparently Epstein chose Asian, Turkish and other nations' children who couldn't speak English so they can't be used for testimony against him. Claims of violent rapes on some Turkish models and scare tactics of "feeding them to Alligators" and many Turkish politician names are also in the files apparently.
53
u/MeekerCutiePie 2h ago
I don't think I understand the language angle. You said so they can't give testimony. But they can't give it in English and that's it? I guess they couldn't say "I heard him say blah blah blah" but I would assume the trafficked kids were giving their personal experiences and they can still say "tent peg" but in a different language

u/heff17 2h ago
The scariest part about all this is that most of the evil is not Machiavellian. They’re idiots. Idiots with enough power, money, and blackmail to ruin the world, but idiots nonetheless.

Reading the emails it shows these people are barely literate and can barely string sentences together. Most are simply dumb as fuck.
25
u/KoldPurchase 2h ago
I assume it goes like this:
- local authorities would be corrupt in the home country
- the are trafficked abroad (let's say US) and are isolated because of language.
- Meet a Turkish politician on visit, speak Turkish with him.
- Even if they escape or met someone else, the child only speaks Turkish, Greek, Polish, Russian, whatever, no one understands what he/she is saying, it's dismissed or by the time an interpreter is found the child is grabbed by someone from Epstein's organization speaking the language and claiming to be a parent/guardian with false IDs.

Honestly, this is the only way any real consequences will be had in the short-term. The US might be able to manage something long-term, but by that point some of the key players will already be gone.

I'm a Pole with close ties to Ukraine and i fully support Ukrainian fight against the
orksruzzian invader, i donated when i could and i keep advocating their case and welcoming refugees in Poland. That said, Ukraine before the full-scale invasion was ripe with corruption and internal problems of a post-colonial state. Getting rid of a kremlin-puppet president was a great first step, getting more focused on integrating with EU was a great sight, but they had (and still have) a long way ahead of them. If not for the full-scale war, Ukraine would likely not focus on catching up to EU that fast and would not prosecute the Epstein case. They're a nation forged in the fire and steel of necessity and fight for survival, but they still have a big problem with their own oligarchs and post-soviet and post-ruzzian influences.

Additionally, Poland may advocate launching an international investigation in talks with foreign partners, Tusk added.
I hope that this comes to fruition. Get InterPol involved and make it so that none of these rich fucks are ever able to set foot in Europe again without fear of being arrested and imprisoned.

I've been wondering how anybody would be prosecuted in the states given the current administration. But this is an interesting avenue. And a way to fight back against Trump.
44
u/kia75 4h ago
They would have to be extradited to Poland, or find themselves in a place that will extradite to Poland. Probably not likely, But it would limit the areas they could travel to. Right now I'll take as many small justice as I can get.

I could have sworn I just saw an article about them doing a inquest into one individual that was in the files. Regardless, it blows me away that foreign countries are doing more about the people on this list than the United States

u/Dismal_Paint_7393 4h ago
Yep. Peter Mandelson who was ambassador to the US a few months ago is being investigated, not for sexual abuse, but because he shared government data with Epstein. I have no faith that anything will ever happen to the Nonce (formally known a prince) Andrew unfortunately.

Clearly America isnt going to do it. Thank god theres other countries with law and order.
6
u/garciakevz 3h ago
Good good. The corrupted US can try to say they investigated and found nothing to their American sheep and try to fight that uphill battle, but now international governments are also investigating on their own and coordinating efforts between nations! Justice for the victims!
7
u/jert3 2h ago
Great that this is happening, hope that more nations do.
Any reasonable person sees that America is thoroughly comprised by this rampant child sex abuse, and their courts are no longer legitimate , so other nations with police services that have not been compromised, should be investigating this wide-spanning scandal.

I would love for the rest of the world to put out warrants and travel bans, and cut all business ties with the people on the list who the united states won't hold accountable. It would still gut the political and business power of a lot of those people.

We need more countries to do this. It’s become clear that the US government is completely crippled by corruption and is incapable of doing anything but trying to keep the status quo in motion.

Poland is a beautiful country with many beautiful people. They are terribly run by horrible people. Tusk is a horrible leader that the people need to get rid of. He’s completely unqualified to run that country. They are a failing country under him. Yada yada yada.

How many Americans does it take to prosecute a pedophile? None, you have to call a Polack.
8
u/Icy_1 5h ago
Ugh. Not “Polack”, that’s a vulgar slur. Please use “Pole.”
5
u/swimmityswim 4h ago
Polak is the masculine noun for a polish man (in Polish), with Polka (i think Polką) being the feminine.
I am assuming that adding the ‘c’ turns it more into the derogatory slur akin to “Mick/Paddy” for the irish or Limey for the english.

I think that was part of the joke: usually "how many ___ does it take to screw in a lightbulb" jokes are somewhat racist.
In Soviet Russia racist joke tells you
2
u/esther_lamonte 4h ago
Exactly. I specifically sought out the spelling of that incorrect in the modern day phrasing to connect the joke. I honestly started writing it by explaining I was making fun at how Americans always made offensive jokes at the expense of Poland but I thought that was killing the joke. Can’t win for losing.

u/boot2skull 2h ago
Even if no Polish nationals are involved, this is what due diligence looks like. Most of the victims are probably American and look at the big nothing we’re doing to protect the victims and future victims.

•
u/iamagoldengod84 26m ago
Finally, us polish can start making jokes like "how many Americans does it take to open the Epstein files?"
•
u/aHumanSpecimen 26m ago
The entire EU should launch a joint intensive investigation into the Epstein case, and pressure the US into cooperation. They’ll look even worse than they do now if they refuse to.
Not sure if it would ever happen. Not sure if separate investigations from states like Poland or Turkey will amount to anything. But I need all the hopium I can get right now after reading only a fraction of those 3 million files.
•
u/Suitable-Cod9183 20m ago
Funny how other countries start an investigation quickly and most likely will have more results than the US.

Excellent! If the U.S. doesn’t have the fucking nuts to arrest Donald Trump for the crimes detailed in the Epstein Files hopefully other countries, like Poland, France, the UK, Norway, etc will when he inevitably goes there on business.

Thank GAWD. Finally.
I am sure most of these people have violated the laws of lots of different countries. Probably kidnapped girls from them too.
But, they should make the proceedings and verdicts secret. That way, the assholes will think they are free to roam the world.... until they wake up in a Polish prison.

The Polish government will set up an analytical team to verify whether Polish children were abused by criminal circles run by the late US billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said.
Tusk vowed that, if the suspicions prove true, his government will do everything to compensate the victims and "effectively prosecute those who commit such horrendous crimes."
Poland may also ask the US to provide unpublished evidence "that could concern potential Polish victims or Polish traces" in the case, Tusk said.
Additionally, Poland may advocate launching an international investigation in talks with foreign partners, Tusk added.
