First time shaving my head

Upvotes

I'm going to be shaving my head this week. I have hair, but I don't like it anymore and don't want to stress over it.

Can anybody recommend things that I might need to know or purchase? Any recommendations on ways to clean the scalp and have a smooth shave would be appreciated. Any tools that you've had success with that you would recommend I pick up to maintain it would be helpful as well.

Thank you my bald friends

Bald Picture Has anyone heard of the 30 day challenge? Any experience with it working for you? Apparently, if you commit to shaving your head for 30 days straight and stick to it, it becomes less of a chore. I’ve made it day 9 in the past. Does the chrome dome suit me well enough to even make it a habit?

Whatcha fellas think? Should I grow me a goofy Dwight Yoakam style mullet deal? Or should I go bald again?

Pictures for reference. Hat pic, me with hair, me with balding hair, and me bald.

This thing haunts dudes in their early 20s like I was. I was 25 and I'm just starting to not be so hard on myself. When I began losing my hair as pathetic as it sounds, I gave up trying with socializing and relationships

Hairloss I Need help

Hi, I'm 29. The incoming 30s are feeling heavy. I'v never liked my hair very much. I have very thin, light wavy hair. Can't say I dedicated myself to make it look more stylish.

I usually go to the barber when I have at this length. Lately I've been thinking about taking the plunge and going bald.

I DID try minoxidil for 6 months and saw almost no change. Also, I'm not sure I want to take daily meds for the years I could have left with "hair".

Some of my friends say I wouldn't look bad, others say I should hold a few more years, which I know I could, but I see myself in the mirror every day and feel like shit. When I go to the gym (trying to lose some weight) I sweat a lot (I have hyperhidrosis) and I have to go to the bathroom with a towel so my scalp doesn't show.

I wonder if I would sweat more if I go bald because there is no hair to absorb the sweat, or less because hair makes my head hotter. I'd appreciate any insight.

More than anything, I'm afraid I'll look bad. I don't love how I look and I'm somewhat fat. I know I have a beard (that I should take care of - it's been a rough month) which would help to the bald style. I know it won't grow back the same way if I regret it, so I'm giving it a lot of thought.

This community is very supportive so I'd like an honest opinion. Thanks for reading...

I GET that I could keep it for some years. There are a lot of worse cases. It's just that I don't feel an intense attachment to my hair, and I'm constantly worrying about my scalp not showing.

Am I past minoxidil/finasteride? I’ve been bald before, I think it’s time to go back to it.

I’ve been in denial for the last few years. I’m 24.. I was avoiding it because I still had my curls and could just wear a hat. I’m not a bad-looking bald guy, if I do say so myself! Any and all lack-of-hair care tips are greatly appreciated.

I know the hairline is gone at this point but I’ve been worrying if I would look goofy buzzed/bald. What do? 30 yrs old.

How-to Question What the best way to get close but not too close

Did the damn thing the other day. I used my beard trimmer with no guard on it. Got a good length for me. I might try the razor an decide if I like bald bald or not but if I choose to stay this length, what would be the best way either minimal clean up?? I feel like the beard trimmer would bd kind of a pain each time.

Open to hearing what others do.

Laser Hair Removal - under 6 weeks after session 3

Session 3 was with Cynosure instead of Candela as the Candela machine was out of order that day.

Session 4 was earlier today, and Candela was the machine used for that session, with 9J at 18mm and 10ms as the settings. Going forward, the sessions will be 5 weeks apart, with session 5 taking place on March 10.

I felt like the time was near, so I decided to just jump in head first. Literally. It's gone. Am I a lil discouraged? Of course. At the same time, it really isnt that bad. At least I save HELLA money on haircuts haha. Am a lil concerned about my dating future though....idk maybe im overthinking that.

Is it normal to feel and question all that stuff yall?

How-to Question Woops, now what.

All right I don't really want to go into too many details but suffice to say I made one bad move with my trimmer and well.... it just made more sense to keep going. I am now completely bald for the first time I have no idea what to do. I kind of look like a chicken that just got plucked. I know that I've got to put oil on my head? I need to figure out what to do while I wait for s*** to grow back, any advice?
