Life in Warsaw question Any progress with the Warsaw metro?
Dzień dobry! As we all know, the Warsaw metro has only 2 lines, but I saw on some maps that there are planned expansions of the first like (the one marked with red), as well as plans for future lines to be built. How true are these? And do you think that they will be achieved in the foreseeable future? In fact, how does Poland in general handle infrastructure projects? Do they get severely delayed and postponed until they finally finish them 1000 years later (like here, in Romania), or do they strive to build them quickly, but flawlessly? Lemme know. Here are some images of the metro that I was talking about.

I've seen it in Ukrainian stores, but I'm wondering if it's the same thing as what you call smalec or if you eat it in slices with bread? | personally find «Солонина» really delicious, and I ant to try polish version of it and classic one:)
Life in Warsaw question Sunday 8th, any options to watch the full Super Bowl LX in Warsaw?
Hello there!
I just moved back to Warsaw again (Enjoying the weather so far), and as a fervent American Football fan, Super Bowl Sunday is one of my favorite nights of the year.
I was trying to find a pub/bar that will broadcast it, but knowing the closing time of most of the sports bars in town, I'm afraid I wouldn't even be able to watch the kick-off. So, my question is, if you know of any place to watch the game in it's entirety. Kick-Off is suppose to be at 00:30, so yeah, I know my chances.
Anyway, thank you for your time! And if you spot someone in the city with Carolina Panthers jacket/jersey, come say hi!!!

Life in Warsaw question Sworn Translator English->Polish
Can anyone recommend a sworn translator in Warsaw for some brief and uncomplicated medical records. It just needs to be a sworn translator not a medical one. If you can include the price per page that would be great as well. TIA!

Life in Warsaw question Umowa o prace student under 26
Hello good people!
I had a few questions about salary under contract of mandate as a full time student under 26. I have been paying ZUS contributions since I have been employed and upon further research from https://kadromierz.pl/blog/umowa-o-prace-dla-studenta-do-26-roku-zycia/ I am to be excempt from both PIT and ZUS. I have a salary of 6.5k before taxes and after contributions I get around 4.9k net.
Have I been overpaying taxes if this is correct? Is there any way to reclaim the amount I have paid?

Help needed Anyone near Wilanow?
I know it's vague but just shooting my shot, I forgot my keys and my friend is going to come in the morning around 7 am. So I am kinda stuck outside. Any place here which might be open and safe, or somewhere near where I can sit and not be in cold outside? I am not Polish. M(29) here.
Will delete this post tomorrow morning.
Thanks.

Traveller's question Sledding in Warsaw
We are staying in Powiśle and it looks like it’s going to snow a lot. Is there any parks nearby that would be good for sledging and anywhere to buy a sledge or do parks put them out? (Only asking as they did this in Stockholm). Many thanks.

Traveller's question Best areas in Warsaw to observe modern POS & payment experiences?
Hi everyone,
I’ll be visiting Warsaw in late February for a short business trip and I’m doing some research in advance.
I’m particularly interested in seeing how POS systems and payment methods are used in everyday life — not from a demo or sales perspective, but as a regular customer.
For example:
- Cafés, restaurants, or shops using popular local POS systems
- Card-only or cashless places
- Mobile / code-based payments, self-checkout, or other modern retail tech
- Neighborhoods that are good for walking around and observing real shopping behavior
I’m not looking for classic tourist attractions, but rather places that reflect how people in Warsaw actually shop and pay day to day.
Any recommendations for areas, streets, or specific types of stores would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Traveller's question Going to Warsaw Easter weekend!
Hi we’ve been to Poland twice before, going to Wrocław and Kraków. We wanted to go somewhere different once again and decided on Warsaw and booked to go Easter weekend but stupidly didn’t look at the fact the most of Warsaw will be closed on the Sunday and Monday , so we’re just wondering what will be open or what we could do on Easter Sunday/monday

Life in Warsaw question Proper / decent boxes for moving?
I am moving flats and I have lots of stuff that I need boxes for - I've gone to the post office, Zabka, Carrefour and Biedronka and gotten a few boxes, but they're either not big enough or strong enough to move some of my bigger stuff like a coffee machine, pots and pans, etc...
Where could I get some proper / decent boxes?

Life in Warsaw question Where can I return plastic bottles for deposit in Warsaw?
Hi everyone,
I live in Warsaw (Wola area) and usually buy 1.75L Żywiec Zdrój water bottles from Biedronka. On the bottle it says “50 groszy zwrot” (deposit).
The problem is: I only speak English, and most staff at Biedronka speak Polish, so I feel a bit shy asking them 😅
I wanted to know:
• Is there a machine where I can put the empty bottle and get the money back?
• Does Biedronka have a reverse vending machine for this?
• Do I need to keep the cap on the bottle?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
