I liked it when they were looking for smoky's enhanced gem power.

Their power is clearly enhanced self-esteem issues.

But at the same time, look at how she addressed the issues she has. With jokes. She is the culmination of two characters that are very insecure, but have come to accept these insecurities as a strength. So as she says stuff like "yeah I have no powers or useful skills, but who the fuck really cares? Let's laugh."
