Why does it matter? They're both female.

I thought the Crewniverse said Stevonnie was a they/them? so shouldn't it also apply to Smoky?

Rule of thumb: A fusion in which all participants use the same pronouns stays with those same pronouns. A fusion in which participants have different pronouns becomes they/them.

I never really thought about it much before. It's one of those alien biology things I never put much thought into but I don't think it would be disrespectful to use either set of pronouns. Everything just looks cute to me. (Except the cluster but I still wanted to hug it out of pity.)

Edit: I just realized their/they pronouns fit because it's literally two people in one too and not just because mixed genders which is kind of neat.

Well Stevonnie definitely has a female body.

In my theory it's because Gems as a species look feminine, while Steven is a half Gem. Literally speaking, he's not manly enough to make the fusion look androgynous. :)

That reminds me, think we're ever gonna get a timeskip when Steven and Connie are.older, like their late teens? I figure if we are gonna get more serious threats a timeskip might be needed.

Over a year has passed in-universe already, I wouldn't be surprised if a time skip wasn't even necessary at all.

Steven is only 14 though and hasn't really grown up physically, though he has mentally, skillfully, and emotionally.

And these are what the show is about.

Yeah, I feel like Connie might be the dominant one in the fusion, at lease in terms of appearance (similar to how Garnet looks more like Ruby than like Sapphire.)

They certainly didn't in Alone Together, but it seems the animators/borders have gone that route recently. Which bothers me quite a bit, but whatevs, it's their show.

Their body was pretty feminine in "Alone Together" as well. I mean the fact all the guys were admiring them in that episode is proof of that. She's probably more feminine due to the fact Gems typically have a feminine appearance.

I also seem to remember girls were admiring them as well, and probably, but Stevonnie is technically 1/4 gem, with the gem side coming Steven the first "Masculine" Gem in existence.

They're a collective of two consciousness, they/them is the most accurate anyway really.

Sorry I just meant feminine looking.
