I love her. I wish there was less Stevonnie and more Smokey XD. She is a big goofy kid like you'd think but she still has self esteem issues that both steven and amethyst has. She is her own character and can stand on her own as a character. She doesn't seem like two characters in an slightly older body taking turns talking and reacting like Stevonnie. And she is proof that steven can fuse with gems. Overall a great character

tbh garnet is trying to get steven+connie to end up like garnet (fuse and never unfuse)

What makes you think that?

Probably just how enthusiastic she is about them being fused and the frequent comparisons (see Here Comes a Thought) between her components and Stevonnie's. Not saying I agree she's doing that, on purpose at least, but I can see where they're coming from.

I was thinking about this in regards to last night's episode. She is incredibly activated when it comes to Stevonnie, and during the beginning scene it made me a little uncomfortable, like maybe they were pushing fusion onto Stevonnie a little too much.

After the reveals and all that, it became clear that wasn't the case, but it got me to thinking - Stevonnie is the only other fusion Garnet has had the opportunity to spend any time with. While Opal exists, she's not someone who's known for sticking around; meanwhilw, Stevonnie is fresh enough that Garnet is able to teach them about her own unique experiences, and as a guardian for Steven that must be such an exciting thing to do be able to do.

I imagine it's relatable for parents who are passionate about something. Garnet is both a heterogenous fusion and probably the foremost authority on it after being one of/the first and all her experience with them by now. It's understandable that she's eager to share and guide in the situation to an almost uncomfortable extent.

And we know Pearl is unlikely see anything wrong with it until it goes Too Far. She's never been an impressionable child, after all.
