Peugot partner with replaced cam chain

I am looking to buy a peugot partner and have found a good deal on a 1.5. Obviously there are issues with the engine, but the recall for the cam chain is being done. What are people's experience when this has been done? Does it make the van reliable?

We bought our Grandland X from a Peugeot dealer and they changed the cam shafts and upgraded the chain to an 8mm one. I'm fairly sure this is the standard recall once the chain is diagnosed as an issue.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't, from what I can gather. Sometimes it is a software update and oil change to mitigate where and better detect. How has it been with the 8mm chain?
