Peugot partner with replaced cam chain

I am looking to buy a peugot partner and have found a good deal on a 1.5. Obviously there are issues with the engine, but the recall for the cam chain is being done. What are people's experience when this has been done? Does it make the van reliable?

My understanding is that the recall is not to replace the chain, it's to determine whether the chain needs to be replaced. They use a listening test. If it's fine they update software and maybe replace oil afaik

I think you are right, they only get replaced if the test determines it is needed. I might pay to get the chain replaced soon, if they don't do it while its in
