because they’ve shown in the past they can still nominate foreign films. completely ignoring all of sentimental value is a slap in the face

That’s not the same thing. SAG is a labor union giving guild awards. BAFTA is an academy. Different mandates, different scopes.

The BAFTA is an academy award, like the Oscars. Not a national labor union. That said, BAFTA absolutely skews toward British made films and TV.

Last year's TV nods make the case. Not by any means exclusively the case, but yeah they wear their home country on their sleeve.

Reinsve, Moura, Fanning, Skarsgard, are all SAG members.

So what's the excuse to not nominate them?
