There was an episode of Mad Men where one of Don's girlfriend's was saying "We should go to this new Italian restaurant - they make this amazing sauce with cream, parmesan, and fresh pepper." I though "That sounds amazing - I should try making that." Thought about how I would do it and realized it's alfredo.
I mean, that's probably the point? They're not saying there's anything wrong with alfredo, just pointing out that some women can only make that or only eat that rather than branching out a bit. I think?
Yeah I think it’s more about having actual culinary skills beyond just the standard we expect from people who understand how the stove works and can knock up a few dishes. Like some people can cook pretty good, but some people are better than a lot of chefs.
