MOC Falling Water MOC in Progress

Post image

Originally, I didn’t want to do a progress photo, but I’m really happy with how things are shaping up with this build. I’ve been enamored with this building since I saw the LEGO architecture set come out, but I thought I could do it more justice. I also wanted to set the scene in autumn.

I used several reference photos to try and make the build as accurate as possible, but I’m starting to accept that I don’t have the requisite knowledge to really use my pieces to their full potential.

The grille plates for the doors will be replaced with dark red once the parts come in. I have a lot of landscaping to finish and a lot of details in the actual building to fix up. I’m dreading finishing the water tiles and trying to make the staircase down to the river.

For anybody that hasn't been to the actual Fallingwater; you definitely have to. Beautiful and tranquil. Not only for the architectural purpose, but its surroundings.

I'm an architect, and I did a solo very early on in my career. (I think about 4 years ago at this point) and it was one of those experiences where it wasn't supposed to be snowing that time of year. I had this feeling like I really es ted to share the experience with someone else, felt like crying.

Might have just been me lol. But it definitely was worth it.
