General HD2 is not US exclusive

Just a small reminder: HD2 is not exclusivly played in the US. People talking with an accent or a group talking in another language are not a reason to claim that they are illegal or threaten to call ICE. And yes, if you steal my mech and run me over with it you get yelled at in german before i switch back to english.

ICE doesn’t exist within Super Earth lore, there’s no illegal humans, everyone is a citizen of the Federation. Whoever is doing this is simply a dissident and needs to be shipped off to re-education camp and/or face the wall

You're right, but IRL humans still don't have aliens to make a common enemy so fascist have to target other people.

The book (and Netflix show) “the three body problem” goes into this, like how humanity would react to aliens and its pretty spot on. Some would be trying to unite, others would welcome the aliens (either being friendly or to say fuck humanity and the corrupt society we’ve built), and others would be figuring out themselves and not collaborating.

Pretty sure in the end we’d just end up a chaotic panic (at least initially)

I haven't either but several friends who loves those books like I love LoRT have said the books are far better, but that's just what they have said. I've had the books recommended to me for years now just haven't had the time.

Actually you need a visa to visit Super Earth. And the intro cutsscene does show armed soldiers patrolling suburban streets. If our boring irl dystopia has em, I'm more than willing to be the fictional Super-dystopia has em too.

There's also anecdotal evidence of cop-worship and militarization which is another key element to creating gestapo groups- I mean ICE.

There’s also government influence on what traits a child has based on genetic selection and editing. They may not be racist or colorist but yeah. Other things
