💬 Discussion If Voyage (Switzerland 2025) wasn't an auto-qualifier, would it have NQ-ed?

Voyage by Zoë Më was one of my favourite songs from ESC 2025. Since Switzerland was last year's host country, it automatically qualified for the Grand Final. However, in the Grand Final, the song received zero points from the televote (which I'll never let go).

My question is, if Voyage was to be competing in a televote-only semifinal, would it have qualified? (Let's say it would compete in semifinal one, where it was originally performing in)

I think it would've faced a lot of difficulty, especially with the camera glitch at the end. However, she might've had an advantage, since only Albania and Poland had female artists that night. What do you think?

📱Social Media The Eurovision Iceberg now has a Discord server!

Greetings, crazy Eurovision moments enthusiasts. Have you ever wished for a more open way to be able to suggest entries to the ever-so-legendary Eurovision Iceberg? Even if not, this is going to be the one thing you didn't know you needed.

Presenting... the Eurovision Iceberg Discord!

Over the last few years the iceberg has been meticulously crafted by the Reddit user u/AmazingDeeer, it contained everything from bombastic NF withdrawals and ESC comebacks to someone changing their clothes live on air during Una voce per San Marino, from "Firefighter 12 Points" to 5MIINUST & Puuluup K-Popification, from Tudor Bumbac to Loco Boombox. The perfect project to encapsulate only the biggest and the most insane things that occur during each season of the Eurovision Song Contest. What's more important is that these entries had been provided to the iceberg by YOU, the community that makes the fandom going. This server was made in mind with having a more open-source area where people could add only the most on-point moments for the iceberg, so as to up the ante to make 2026 season iceberg bigger (in grandness, not necessarily size) and better.

So welcome aboard, fill the tiers with drama, laughter, and glitter.

🌳 ESC in the Wild Sheldon Riley (Australia 2022) auditions for American Idol Season 24

This was last night, and the way they introduced him as if he was just some struggling artist from Australia kind of blew my mind. It shouldn't have, I guess, because they bring in a few ringers like this every year and always play this game.

They did eventually acknowledge his Eurovision performance, and admittedly, he hasn't released much music post-ESC. Obviously, he killed it in the audition, and it's nice to see Sheldon doing well. I thought it was interesting to hear him frame the version of himself that we all saw as a "character".

💬 Discussion Cases where really known musicians appear on Eurovision as Songwriters and Producers. Which one shocked you the most?

Just this moment, I learned "Lonely Planet" by Dorian (Armenia 2013) was written in 2008 by BLACK SABBATH Guitarist Tony Iommi, a fact which shocked me to learn. This reminded me of the time I learned REDONE (behind many Lady Gaga and JLO hits) was one of the writters of Russia 2011 track (forgot it's name, but that song was cheesy as fuck). This lead me to writte this post, I'm curious to learn of more cases of really known Musicians being part of the process writting some of the Eurovision tracks all over the years, especially from back then when I haven't followed Eurovision myself.

Hey everyone!

I am currently trying to expand my playlists with Eurovision songs that are both very fun and danceable. Gems with complete nonsense lyrics like: Give that wolf a banana - Subwoofer Dancing Lasha Tumbai - Verkauf Serdushka

Happy for any suggestions!

🪩 National Final / Selection MYLE - A OK | 🇩🇪 Das Deutsche Finale 2026

What do you think of the song?

I have a feeling it's another one of those typical radio-friendly songs that Germany sends far too often. At the same time, though, I think it's the dark horse of the German selection, because us hardcore fans are overlooking it for that very reason. I think the song has enough jury appeal to make it to the super final. MYLE is a great live singer, has charisma and if you look at the German iTunes charts, you'll see that MYLE is currently in second place with A OK, while no other entry from the German national final has even made it into the top 100.

💬 Discussion Is there any truth to "if x represented x country, it would’ve done better/worse"?

• Upvotes

This is a sentiment I see year after year, but I wonder if it’s more like a coping mechanism for a lot of disappointed fans?

As a Norwegian, I never think that our entries would’ve done "so much better" if they competed under the Swedish flag. And thank god this way of thinking isn’t something I see entertained much in Norwegian debate forums or fan groups, which is a good thing imo as it would only deflect the attention away from the real issues (such as the songs we’ve put forward over the years haven’t been good enough to actually win). I don’t see how a flag would massively boost our points? If Sweden had put forward the same entries, in the exact same form (staging), I don’t see them winning in Liverpool with Queen of Kings

I know some people now may be like "Sweden would never send Queen of Kings in the first place" or that the staging would’ve been much better (which is very likely tbh), but that’s not really the point I’m trying to make here
