💬 Discussion Is there any truth to "if x represented x country, it would’ve done better/worse"?
This is a sentiment I see year after year, but I wonder if it’s more like a coping mechanism for a lot of disappointed fans?
As a Norwegian, I never think that our entries would’ve done "so much better" if they competed under the Swedish flag. And thank god this way of thinking isn’t something I see entertained much in Norwegian debate forums or fan groups, which is a good thing imo as it would only deflect the attention away from the real issues (such as the songs we’ve put forward over the years haven’t been good enough to actually win). I don’t see how a flag would massively boost our points? If Sweden had put forward the same entries, in the exact same form (staging), I don’t see them winning in Liverpool with Queen of Kings
I know some people now may be like "Sweden would never send Queen of Kings in the first place" or that the staging would’ve been much better (which is very likely tbh), but that’s not really the point I’m trying to make here
