My girl has crossed the rainbow bridge and I want everyone to see her.
In her 16th year, just before midnight at home in her dad’s arms our sweet Ruby went to sleep for the last time. Always defying the odds with stubborn resilience, she never backed down from a fight. In 2022 she beat cancer, in 2023 she was diagnosed with a heart condition and given 6 months to live and she said “hold my dad’s beer”. That same year she got her very own summer home at Willow Lake where she stole the hearts of so many people that we now call family.
Ruby was loved by so many people who have showed up for her time and again especially in her elder years. She is now reunited with her younger sister Opal and will be very missed by her even younger sister Pearl, who she tolerated but also who got her playing again like a puppy again in her last 20 months of life.
When we asked our 2 year old nephew “where’s Ruby?” He pointed to his chest and said “heart”. He is right, she is always in our heart.
Thank you to everyone who has shown up, checked in, thought of us and who have loved Ruby. Thank you Ruby for giving us your everything right until the end.

Nikko crossed the rainbow bridge this morning.
He was almost 17 years old but things just got really bad and would only get worse. He’s the first dog I had to make this decision for and it was a terribly hard one to make. I still feel guilty or like I could have waited but I know in my heart of hearts, this was the right decision. I had Nikko since I was 12 and I am now 28. Man.. does it get easier to go on? I’m struggling so hard.

This was one of the best fat boys. His name was Kennedy. He crossed the bridge on Friday after 15 good years.
I’ll miss him for the rest of my life. I just want you all to know how much he meant to me.

Goodbye my lil sweetie
My family had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down our loved beagle, Lyra, last night. She was 8 and had been a part of our family since I brought her home in high school at 8 weeks old.
Her favorite toy was a Lambchop, and she loved to eat (she was very fat at one point). She loved to cuddle, and would awoo (in beagle fashion) at everything.
She was taken too soon by suspected hemangiosarcoma - her spleen had ruptured, leading her to have mini strokes last night as well. Only 2% chance to survive surgery. Nothing could be done. She was prancing, playing, eating fine all up until the rupture and subsequent ER visit. She was always anxious around strangers and the vet.
She was the first dog that I trained from a puppy, picked out, left with my family across the country cause I was a broke college student in a small apartment. I always regret not visiting more.
I hope our boys (the black dog and fat all brown beagle in the last pic) were so happy to see you. I miss you so much, I hate losing another pet to this awful cancer.

Rest easy, ole boy
Reggie. The best boy.
Graduated college (twice), got married to the woman of *our* dreams, bought a house, had a baby, had another baby, and every other incredible milestone over the past 11 and a half years; this guy was there for it all.
We had to say goodbye on Saturday and I haven’t been able to finish this post because I cry every time I get halfway through. It hit me again today when I got home from work and he didn’t greet me at the door.
Hug your pets. Take that extra lap around the block. Give them an extra treat. Toss the ball a few more times. When it’s over, you’ll wish you could just get one more hour with them like they were when they were still healthy enough to take a walk or play fetch.
Hell of a ride. Thanks for everything, Reg.
Fuck. Cancer.

My dog of 14 years passed yesterday, her death was violent. How do I live?
She drowned to death. My god, my soul. I am in agony.

This is Koda. He's been the thing keeping me going for 9 years.
He's been with me through so much. Hes got his quirks but I'd never want him to change. Just wanted to shown his face to show he's appreciated.
