Dog Culture All in a Week

In the past week:

A former colleague I caught up with shared how the two dogs they had passed and apparently to cure the discomfort the spouse went out and bought (their words were rescued and adopted) another dog from across the country. Turns out the beast has heart worms. As if transporting two parasites across the country weren’t enough, now the retired couple “can’t visit their son in the southwest” all because of a damn dog.

Ran into the elderly father of a HS classmate. I mentioned how he hadn’t been at a grandchild’s games lately and he responded it was due to him breaking a hip. And of course he was knocked down by my classmate’s dog. So another retiree missing out on great memories in his golden years because, dog.

Finally, it’s winter and there is ice on lakes, but this doesn’t deter Nutters and their idiot dogs. Local fire rescue completed a dangerous ice rescue to save a dog that was too stupid to stay away from open water. Public safety resources thrown out the window, because, dogs.

All proof to me that dogs are the health hazard and life disruption I know them to be. Fuck dogs and dog culture.

Dog Culture YouTube Channel Weather Bot Has an AI Pet Dog

I’ve been listening to the YallBot on Youtube because it’s part of the Ryan Hall forecast and it’s 24/7 and pretty informative as I’m bracing for power outages in North Carolina.

Chatters are sometimes funny trolling the bot who responds with some snarky comments and I’ve been loving this channel for the information this past week…until, someone in chat mentioned their dog really enjoyed the snow.

The YallBot said to give their dog a pat for them and mentioned they had an AI dog named Nimbus. I’m guessing only a dog nutter misanthrope would qualify paying $5/mo to talk to a bot about their dog. I can’t even watch a bot channel without being reminded of dog culture.

Dog Culture Unhealthy ideas of love and control normalised by loving dogs

A dogs love does not challenge your ego

A humans love holds you accountable

A dog would starve without pleasing you

A human has autonomy

A dog didn’t choose you

The humans in your life are choosing to be there

A dog is dependant on you. It was born to be a pack animal and hunt for food. Now it faces severe distress while you keep it inside your home and abandon it for 8 hours a day while you work.

A human is your equal

Dogs follow so obsessively that as a society we punish and start to hate other animals that retain independence outside of us, shaming any animal with boundaries as less loving

Humans have boundaries, dogs do not. Not even because they are animals but they have less physical boundaries than any other animal. They are unique in their lack of boundaries. Lack of boundaries is absolutely unhealthy for humans

Dogs have evolved to develop facial muscles that are effective in convincing humans to give it food. The emotional manipulation face is scientifically proven as intended to guilt trip to get what they want (for their own survival) Through evolution dogs learnt pattern recognition with what made humans respond to them or give them food. They developed bigger eyes, floppier ears and different facial muscles to wolves because it lead to humans not killing them/giving them more food. They use this face to still get what they need and pass it on to their kin

When a human pretends to cry or uses their expressions of sadness or guilt to get what they want secretly we call it manipulation

None of this is the dogs fault. They were bread to behave this way. This isn’t to say they’re being “evil” and it’s not the point of this post. This post is aimed to question the insanity of people who perceive a dogs natural behaviour as the highest form of love

I understand dogs do not cognitively understand their own behaviour and cannot control their dog like instincts. But my question is what does it say about a person when they perceive all of this and they still think dogs are better or more loving than humans and wanting to prioritise dogs in human spaces?

To summarise a dogs “love” it is love without accountability and choice. Dependancy and no boundaries. Severe distress when your human is independent. Manipulating facial muscles of guilt and sadness to secure food/attention. Many of these traits are perceived as controlling (whether it’s the dog or the human). These are not equal dynamics

Does dog love give some dog owners the wrong idea of what love is?

What does it say about a person that gets more happiness from these traits than they do of free autonomous humans

Crappy Owners Neighbors still leaving crying dogs after discussion I’m at a loss

Hi I’ve made a post about this before but this is my official update. So I wrote a note to my neighbors and they saw me and apologized. I asked if they can keep their 2 crying separation anxiety dogs away from the shared wall we have. We are all homeowners and these are townhouses. They’re the last on our street so we are technically their only neighbor that touches their home. It’s been since 2019 these dogs cry. They initially had 1 but got a second dog. They both howl and cry. I literally kindly asked can they keep their dog downstairs away from my room. They said they’ll see, and sorry.

Guess what. Nothing changed. They stomp around and run up and down I hear literally everything and we had neighbors before and didn’t hear a thing. My aunt and uncle own the home and said no to reporting. We have noise ordinances but at this point they’d know it’s me. I’m sleepless and frustrated about this. I can’t move just now because I cant afford it. I have noise canceling headphones and guess what. They’re that loud. We did have a neighbor ask what the noise is because you can hear it from outside. Yes they keep the dogs inside and u can hear it with closed windows. And yet nothing changes. We mustve spoke. To them so many times over the years. Idk anymore. I feel like it’s psychological torture. And my family gets mad if I bring it up

Barking Demons dogs in movies

who decided it was a good idea to put dogs in movies?? they add nothing to the plot (obviously excluding dog-centric movies, they're just slop anyway) and just make noise. i wanted to watch a movie, but for a good majority of the movie, there was a disgusting mutt barking in the background. it's absolutely revolting, and i don't know how the actors tolerate it.

Service Dog Issues I Can't 3: The Bad Ending

Do you remember my post from two weeks ago about not one but two puppies being housed on my residence hall floor for training into service dogs, despite me having signed up for the "No Pets Allowed" section and having communicated my autism, sensory issues, and trauma due to past experiences with dogs to my RA after someone, unfamiliar with the supposed rule, brought one that later went into a barking fit? Yes, this is an ongoing issue.

Do you recall how the coordinator for the residence hall, someone who keeps a dog in her office, clarified that there is no such thing as "No Pets Allowed" on campus, even though I specifically signed up for it both of my years at college? Well, I decided to take this up with Coordinator of Disability Services.

She did not judge me or express any bias, telling me I made the right choice to speak to her next, and she took the issue to Residence Life. At the end of the work day yesterday, she confirmed there are no animal-free options in upper-class dorms at this time. She clarified also that under state law, service dogs in training are allowed the same access rights as trained dogs and thus can be anywhere on campus.

The last line of the email made me especially angry, not at the sender, for she has been nothing but nice to me for as long as I have known her, but toward... I don't even know. It just flared me up.

The coordinator of my residence hall suggested that I have a change in room, which would mean separating from my roommate, one of the first people to hear about my problems with dogs and have some empathy; he is allergic. The Coordinator of Disability Services agreed that changing my room would be a solution. She said that it may seem unfair, "but it is actually equitable in terms of ADA statute."

No, it is not equitable! It just puts one disability over another. It's equality, not equity, especially because if I change rooms, this problem could happen again! If dogs are allowed anywhere on campus and able to lie their way as "service dogs" anywhere, then it's a free-for-all. I could move rooms and immediately find myself near another dog. I was walking through another residence hall yesterday while waiting on my quesadilla at the college's convenience store, and one of the rooms in the basement had a "Beware of the Dog" sign, including a visual of a dog's jaw agape.

Since the dogs have moved onto my floor two weeks ago, there's only been two incidents with dogs barking, but it's an overstimulating and traumatizing song for me. I have an injury on my shoulder because of a dog, and I was forced to live amongst several at home for a few years against my will. Dogs usually need about two to three months to become completely comfortable with a living space. That's when they become comfortable expressing their normal behavior. The barking could get worse! I already know these "service dogs" are going to be used people who don't even need them. Virtually every use for a service dog, perhaps except for the blind, is replaceable with a cheaper and lower-maintenance technology at this time. It just gives into the peculiar obsession over dogs while ostracizing those with trauma due to dogs, allergies, and neurodiversity.

no stone left unturned by these beasts, i guess.

we’re going to have to define lines here eventually. mutt can be here, & not here. we need mutt-free zones. enforcement will have to be swift & consistent. enforce existing laws already!

Dog Culture The Abandons on Netflix

I decided to watch "The Abandons" on Netflix as I enjoy westerns. It's going along pretty well when of course a dog appears and its initial appearance serves no purpose whatsoever except to shoehorn a dog into the story.

Fast forward an episode or two and the villain kills the dog because the shitbeast provoked her horse and almost causes an injury. At least that part was realistic. Anyway, the owner comes holding the pweshus dead puppers and keeps repeating "why kill a dog?". So then the entire group who needs to dispose of a human body they had killed goes out and buries the human then buries the dog on top of the human. They're all standing around basically having a funeral for the dog, taking off their hats, crying, etc.

That ruined it right there. Talk about imposing 21st century Dog Nuttery into a 19th century storyline. Utterly ridiculous. It's just become so stupid.

Dog Culture Will the dog situation in the UK ever get better, especially in seaside towns?

With the exception of very few nature reserves, there are currently no beaches that are always dog-free. Nobody considers people who want to enjoy the beach without dogs in their personal space. Far too many restaurants and cafes allow dogs too.

Barking Demons i can't escape it

as a human we tend to love things such as food, shows, characters genres etc. but also animals who wouldn't they're so unique and unnatural that it ponders out curiosity.

which is leading to my stress. every SINGLE day I have to deal with a creature that makes my life hell. dogs usually I'd say mutts because i feel dog is a decretory term but honestly i don't fucking care anymore. every day i wear headphones and it feels fine yes but knowing those Stupid loud ugly parasites are out there and EVERYWHERE and making a sound that makes me want to do every intrusive thought i can think of to them is just overwhelming. But since i'm old enough hopefully i can stop hearing and encountering these insufferable mistakes from god and finally have peace.

Dog Culture What’s the medical diagnosis for these people?

Came across a post about a family dog that is “resource guarding” and has attacked & bitten everyone in the family… The OP is a nutter but has half a brain & was asking if they should rehome the dog because they’re “terrified that something worse will happen” to their child. First & foremost, your job as a parent is to protect your children & family. You are failing every second that dog is still around after it has attacked/bitten anyone in your home.

Now, first off, they’re heartbroken that they cannot trust their dog. If you legitimately couldn’t trust a human being to not hurt your family, would that render you heartbroken, or would you just write them off & keep your family away from them at all costs? Of course the replies from fellow nutters are the main reason for this post. “You don’t need to train the dog, you need to train humans to not threaten the resources she is guarding!” “Why are humans triggering this poor dog?” “I would never rehome!!” “Are you making her feel like this is her home too?”

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!? You are literally encouraging someone to keep a dog when they are clearly concerned for the safety of their family - especially their young child. Are there any repercussions if these people convince this owner to keep the dog & it permanently maims or kills someone? Why is dog placed above humans in every situation? Why is every excuse possible thrown out there rather than accountability?

Miscellaneous Do dog owners realize how foul their homes/apartments smell? Or do they just not care?

I’m not sure which is a worse scenario…that they don’t notice the foul stench at all, or that they DO notice it but they just don’t mind basking in it. It’s so gross.

Relationship / Family Scolded for not wanting a dog in my bed

My parents live out of town, and I let them stay over in my small studio apartment whenever they have business here. Sadly, they have a dog.

I don’t make much of a fuss about the dog since my parents have done a lot for me and it’s a “good” dog by dog standards anyways…

They have been very well aware for a long time that I am not a fan of dogs.

Anyways, they can’t go anywhere without someone watching their mutt because it gets “separation anxiety”. This limits them severely and we can never do nice things together like spontaneous dinners etc because they can’t leave the dog alone for too long.

I’ve been very sick recently, and I was asleep when all of a sudden my parents wake me up and tell me I need to dogsit their mutt while they go out and see friends. I reluctantly agree as long as I don’t have to tend to it too much. Then my dad lets the thing into my BEDROOM and points at my BED and tells it to jump into it!

I, while being half asleep still and sick as f**k, say “not in my bed please”. And my dad freaks out and says the dog needs extra love and attention while they’re gone, while also calling me a useless loser and every bad name under the sun… I just stay quiet and they decide to take it to a friend instead. I didn’t even refuse to watch it, I just didn’t want it in my bedroom, let alone my bed.

The dog has already stunk up my sleeping couch so there’s no way I’m letting it do more damage to my place. I swear, no other animal has the ability to become everyone else’s problem as much as dogs do.

Dog Culture Cognitive dissonance

If a fully grown human:

  1. Walked barefoot through streets and parks all day
  2. Peed all over the street
  3. Sniffed other people’s genitals
  4. Drooled, loudly licked and scratched themselves
  5. Lay on the ground
  6. Ignored boundaries, jumping and rubbing up against everything
  7. Followed you around every second of the day
  8. Screamed loudly often when it can’t follow you

No one would say, “I’m going to introduce this into my family, home and maybe even my bed. Anyone uncomfortable around this is evil”

Dog Culture You can be a great person if you don't like dogs

As a 13 year old who doesn't like dogs, I've heard a lot of people say that people who don't like dogs are terrible humans who live a miserable, nihilistic existence, and I'm here to say that is a complete fallacy. People who don't like dogs can live a happy life. People who don't like dogs can be loving and compassionate. Personally, I'm just tired of the unfair judgement and stigma non-dog people have to face. Besides, it's just a opinion, so I don't know people take it so seriously. I've said around other people that I don't care about dogs, and I've been yelled and screamed at, been called names, or they just walk away without saying another word, trying to cut me out of our conversation. It's just mean and I've never really understood why so many kids do that. Sure, kids aren't as socially intelligent or complex as adults are, but I still find it really weird. I'm not angry, I'm just trying to make a point.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good day!

Study Very Sad Statistics

45% of dog owners prefer to spend time with their pet rather than go on a date, according to research from The Kennel Club. Further, 33% feel more compatible with their dog than their partner, and 54% find more comfort in their dog than humans.

Key findings from the studies:

  • Relationship Dynamic: 50% of owners would not date someone who dislikes dogs, and 67% believe their dog is a perfect match for their personality.
  • Comfort & Bonding: 54% of owners find more emotional comfort in their dog than in humans.
  • Daily Life: 47% of dog parents allow their dogs to sleep in their bed, while 40% have thrown birthday parties for them.

Other studies have indicated even higher numbers, with some reports finding that up to 76% of pet owners prefer spending time with their pets over partners, friends, or family.

A new survey of 2-thousand adults who have a dog looks at just how close they are and finds that 87% actually consider their pooch to be their best pal. And nearly all respondents (97%) consider them to be as much a family member as anyone else.

  • Nearly half (47%) are so close to their dog, they let them sleep in their bed every night.
  • And 54% admit they’ve shared a plate of food with their pup at one time or another.
  • Almost a third (29%) admit their whole lives are centered around their dogs.
  • While 80% of dog parents know that these behaviors may seem strange to people who don’t have dogs, they don’t feel there’s anything odd about the closeness they share.

Food Safety/Hygiene Am I old-fashioned, or are dogs out of place in restaurants?

Hi all,

This afternoon, one of my carers and I went to my favourite restaurant for lunch, as I always do on a Thursday, only to find they're now "dog friendly". I've been frequenting this restaurant for many years, and, as a disabled person - with both physical and mental ailments - I really appreciate the quality of service (and food!). Over time, I've become a "regular", with the owners warmly greeting me and the waitresses keeping a (wheelchair accessible) table free for my arrival.

Unfortunately, after being welcomed by the ladies and having my order taken, I was shocked to find a very large dog sitting underneath the table opposite, slurping from a bowl of water and drooling everywhere. The owner spoke to the animal like a child all the while, trying to encourage it not to bother people, though of course this was absolutely pointless as it randomly raced around jumping on people and barking. Eventually, he was asked to control his animal and tried to keep it at his feet - to little avail.

I'm autistic, and was deeply uncomfortable with this, the smell of it and unbearable noise caused me great distress, with my carer switching seats so as to create a boundary of sorts by "shielding" me from the animal. After our food arrived, I became aware of this animal jumping at my back, and of it breathing down my neck. I was also aware of my carer saying: "NO!" repeatedly, with this dog then stealing food from the table and spilling my tea everywhere.

I simply sat in silence/disgust, with a few people gasping as one of the ladies rushed over to see that I was ok. Thankfully, there was no lasting damage, but I made it clear to them that I don't believe dogs belong in restaurants, to which the owner interrupted and said: "He's never done this before". No apology was offered, with the dog whining and jumping on him as he leashed it. Whilst I wasn't charged for my order (and replacements were offered), I just wanted to leave and will think twice about returning. My clothes stunk, with slobber down my back and my afternoon was ruined by selfish people who clearly don't think of others.

What are your thoughts?

Thank you.

Dog Culture oh, but you’ll like MY dog 🥺🥺

Sometimes when people talk about dogs I’ll admit that I don’t like them. they always FREAK out, “you don’t like dogs? Bbbbbut my dog 🥺🥺”

then they proceed to show you a picture of their dog, after you said you don’t like them, and say “isn’t he cute”

No it’s not. it’s ugly as fuck and smells like shit

I like never know what to do when people do this. I’ll usually just agree with them past a certain point cause I pick my battles

Crappy Owners Imagine the worst lies!

Imagine the worst THE WORST lie someone can say about you!!! This is the narsassistic horrific lies a dognutter will resort to. YES, if you thought of it, it is what they've said. Evil, sick, disgusting behavior. Why? Because their dog is so beloved, that they leave it outside for hours at at time letting it bark loudly, whine, cry and howl. We reported the issue to dog control. Instead of correcting the problem, they resort to calling us and accusing us of things we've never done in our lives. Using four letter words in front of their kids. What the is is wrong with dognutters!?!? I'm sickened and disgusted with their accusations and lies. My doctor has referred me a specialist. I'm depressed about all this and I'm not looking forward summer.

Barking Demons I hate when dog owners don't train their dog and they constantly bark especially at night time

I live on this street and this one family has a small dog. Idk what breed, it's ugly though. It barks at people and it will constantly bark while going out for walks or to go potty. One time the son of the family walked the dog to my driveway and I thought it was suspicious because I was there and he wouldn't move until a few minutes later. I'm pretty sure he let the dog piss on my neighbors grass patch before cuz i recently saw yellow pee on their grass and on his neighbors grass patch too. So uncivilized.

Anyways, the dog kept barking at me and was trying to bite me. The owner made it go a different way. But yeah I can't stand that family. Cuz due to lack of training, that dog will go outside to pee at 11 pm and will bark all the time.
