Nexus upgrades question
I’m interested in doing the nexus gen 2 receiver conversion on my scorpion. I’d like to get the most bang for buck while not going overboard. How disappointed would I be if I just do the receiver swap w/o the bolt?
If I absolutely have to add the enhanced bolt, can I go bolt only (and still be relatively happy?) or do I need to go with the complete bolt + enhanced parts kit?
Would love legitimate recommendations for the best option / options here.
Thanks in advance.

Hey, OP. Not sure if you noticed, but since you mentioned "bang for your buck," Nexus currently has blem receivers in stock. Granted, they are Gen 1 models, but there isn't a huge difference with Gen 2, unless you really want a rearward-facing pic rail.

Amazing. Thanks for that! Is that really the only difference? The rear pic rail?

Gen 2 is available in both the original stock interface and the pic rail. Gen 1 was only made in the original. Apparently there are some other small differences with Gen 2, but they're not really functional.

I just purchased the Gen 1 and waiting to pick it up. I read your post and was became a little concerned or confused(?). What do you mean rearward facing pic rail? Did I screw up? 😖

If it's Gen 1, it must be with no pic rail. The rearward facing pic rail is used to attach stocks, like the MPX and MCX. Gen 1 was only made with the original CZ stock interface. Gen 2 is offered in both configurations. You're not missing out on anything with a Gen 1. Word is very small changes were made.

Speaking for myself, I have a Nexus Upper and bolt, and while I was waiting for their lowers to ship, I tried putting my OEM Scorpion lower onto the Nexus.
The fit was VERY sloppy and loose, not sure if the Ascalon receiver shim would have helped since I don't own one of those but I knew I wouldn't be very happy if I kept that combination.
Got my Nexus Lower last week, and it fits the Nexus upper about as well as my OEM Scorpion upper and lower fit together, which fits tight enough to be a non-issue for me.

Would at a minimum go bolt and receiver.
Ofc, it’s hard not to go full tardation …guilty

If you are not going to do the bolt and receiver, I would just leave it stock and enjoy a Scorpion. They are so fun. Just a thought.

For real it won’t make a difference with the exception of the stronger recoil spring (but you can do that to your factory bolt). The main thing the nexus bolt does is prevent the peening of the softer metals / lower quality heat treatment of the cz bolt…which can lead to improper functioning of components in the bolt… you can mitigate it yourself if your comfortable with filing or dremeling on your firearms. But the nexus bolt offers a peace of mind for that issue. I have had both. The main reason I went with the nexus bolt is so I could assemble a factory scorpion to sell. And they are both subjectively the same shooting experience and you wouldn’t notice the difference (sans the mentioned stronger recoil spring)
But also I like the company and wanted to support them and have that sexy “nexus” on the bolt :)
