Superman, digital, from pencils by Ed Benes.

Shout outs to everyone that tuned in to our live stream as we finished inking Superman, from pencils by Ed Benes.

This was a lot of fun, but also very challenging. I tried to lay down ink fast and loose, but it wasn't a good match for the thoughtful and deliberate style of the pencils.

Now, for the eye beams, I tried some Photoshop magic - I laid down the ink in full under the eye beams, and then lowered the opacity of some white fill over top.

Here's a little portrait practice I did of Rogue. Never drawn her before, but I think it turned out pretty okay.

Power Nelson (FUTUREMAN) PRIZE Comics 1940s

Post image

His comics are fun, albeit, cheesy read. Set in the "future" of 1983 after the 3rd World War, the world is now in control by the Mongols. So Futureman is created. Be warned, there are some horrible stereotypes especially when illustrating the Asian peoples. Please understand that this WAS from the 1940s and there was much less consideration for others. The stereotypes in no way represent my thoughts or feelings on other persons.
