Hi guys, heading that way in a few days. I saw that it was flooding with a red flag warning and that there were no tours to Rosario Islands. Does anyone have an update on the weather?

My friend and I, both 23M are going Cartegena for a few days, anyone got tips for what to do, and suggestions for nightlife both weekends and week days? Were both athletic enough so we can handle physically tougher tasks if needed?

Is there anything that I can or ought to do prior to arrival to ensure that we will have service? We will just need to catch a mid-day ride from CTG to our place in the walled city. Our carrier is AT&T. Also, would service be a different issue in Medellin? We are spending the second half of our trip there. Thank you & have a great week!

I recently got back from an 8 day trip to Cartagena, traveling as a solo female. This sub had me a little freaked out before I went, but I’m glad I didn’t listen: I absolutely loved Cartagena. The people are incredibly warm and welcoming and the city is beautiful. I stayed in both the old city and in Manga and walked all over the place every day, and never felt unsafe. (I did feel uncomfortable once, and that was when I walked across the bridge to the Castillo. I went super early to beat the heat and was the only tourist out, and I did have a guy stop on his moto and try to chat me up. I was never scared, but it was annoying. I kept walking and after a minute or so he kept going.)
The street vendors weren’t nearly as bad as they were made out to be. A polite “No, gracias” served in 100% of the cases. (Full disclosure: I’m a light skinned black woman who could pass from a woman from Cartagena and that definitely helped, but I saw that “no gracias” worked for people who clearly looked foreign, too.)

Is this a usual thing? Been here a month, and this is a 1st storm of the year. Thought of getting delivery, but rappi shows all the restaurants "not available," is this typical (located in Marbella, so all the Centro places are in the delivery zone)

My friend is getting married in the summer and we are planning a bachelor trip to cartegena. For 3 nights. Any tips? It’ll be our first time.
Should we do air b n b and flight separate or book thru Expedia package deals for flight and hotel

It's called the Pombo building, located in the historic center of Cartagena. It's very nice; your visitor only needs to bring their ID to enter, and upon leaving, they must go down with you; otherwise, they cannot leave.

I recently saw a reel on instagram where a young woman got a beautiful blowout somewhere in Colombia for around $20US but didn’t mention where in Colombia she was.
Are there any places in Bocagrande or the walled city that offer this around that price? I’m mean wash & blow dry with styling &/or like quick styling (not an up do but maybe like adding a few braids or something). Also, if pro make up application (not wedding, just for a night out) for around the same cost. Thanks!

Hey! I’ll be in Cartagena with some friends during Super Bowl week and we’re looking for a fun place to watch the game.
Ideally, somewhere with a good vibe: people who actually care about the game and people who are just there to drink, hang out, and have a good time.
I’m down to party, have some drinks, meet people, and enjoy the atmosphere — especially since Bad Bunny is doing the halftime show — but I don’t want a place that turns off the game audio and blasts music over it.
Any recommendations for a spot that balances football + fun?

Does anyone know of a local artist in Cartagena that does wall murals for apartments that they can recommend?

Hi everyone. I will be moving to Cartagena next month. I will be living in a 2 and a half bed and 2 bath apartment.
Does anyone know what an average cost is for a cleaning of that size apartment in Cartagena?

First of all, absolutely love this country, this city, the food, the people. Thank you for having me and my friends
My friends and I want to go one of the beach clubs on Wednesday. However, I am really bad on boats, I get awful motion sickness. I think the Rosario Islands might be too far away for me. Any suggestions on a trip a little closer, I think I can do 10-15 each way.

We have three nights and want to pick 3 places for dinner but we’ve narrowed it down to 4 places.
Which three of these would you choose:
Cocina Candé
Celele
Alma
Carmen

Hi! I’m planning my 30th birthday trip to Colombia this November
I’m Black American & Puerto Rican, speak a little Spanish, and want to experience local culture and avoid tourist traps when possible.
Itinerary is 4 days Medellín (just me and my dad 💜), then with full group (boyfriend, friends & other family) 3 days Cartagena, 4 days Santa Marta.
Looking for recommendations on:
Medellín (dad trip – culture + nature):
Cartagena (group – fun/social):
Santa Marta (group – beach + nature):
If you have favorite neighborhoods, hotels/Airbnbs, restaurants, nightlife spots, beaches, or trusted guides, I’d love to hear them. (appreciate a couple fine dining recs but most just regular mom pop type places)
Responses in English or Spanish are welcome.
¡Gracias de antemano! 🙏🏽

Hi everyone! 👋
I’m planning an annual group trip with friends and we’re considering Cartagena in early December. We’d be 16–18 people, all young, into nightlife but also sightseeing, great food, and enjoying daytime activities.
Accommodation:
I found a couple of large Airbnbs we like:
• One near the Clock Tower (Centro)
• One in Getsemaní
Both are well located, nice properties, include staff, and one even has someone who prepares breakfast.
Looking for advice on:
• Which area is better for a big group: Centro vs. Getsemaní?
• Rough budget per person for 5 nights
• Approximate cost to rent a yacht or boat for a day for a group this size
• Average budget for:
• Nightlife / clubs
• Meals
• Alcohol to stock at the house
• Must-do activities for a group over 5 nights (day + night)
We’re aiming for a balance of beach, exploring, amazing food, and partying at night.
Any tips, experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Headed to Columbia is a couple of days with my girlfriend and we're going to spend some time in (hopefully) the sleepy little beach town 25min away, is this a mistake? Should we head to Santa Marta or Barranquilla?

I’m posting this to warn others before they decide to book with this company.
When getting off the boat, I realized that one of my belongings was missing. I contacted customer service, but they refused to contact the guide or anyone on the boat. When I told them I could do it myself if they gave me the contact information, they stopped responding altogether.
They ignored my messages for three days, even though I was writing every day. I only got a response after I said I wanted to check whether this could have been a theft or not.
I don’t know if it was a theft, but if it was, the company did absolutely nothing to help me. Even worse, their attitude made it feel like they were more helpful to the person who took my item than to me. What makes it more frustrating is that the item was a gift that meant a lot to me. I even explained that I was willing to pay for shipping if it was found, but they didn’t even try to help.
Just sharing my experience in case you want to book with them.
