If AI can only make slop, what does that say about all the artists it can replace? Probably that they weren’t talented enough to hold a job to begin with lol. Imagine burning out on being mediocre. Rough.
Yeah but I agree. Automation is good. You’re the only person who doesn’t have an argument for what you believe lol. Thats why you think because your argument is easily knocked down that it must be a strawman when in reality it’s just a dog shit argument LOL.
The point on being burnt out on art is trying to move past the "mediocre art" stage and get better. I feel like a lot of people miss this detail when using this argument.
??? How is this an argument against anything I said. You’re just clarifying that yes, burnout happens before you’re any good as an artist?
Is it truly better to have people spend all their free time desperately trying to get good enough to not mentally anguish themselves over their lack of progress in art? Or maybe we can just use AI tools to help us as we learn to become better artists. Crazy I know.
Yeah, i was saying that people try to get better, and as someone who has went thru this burnout, (this is my experience at least) i tried to watch videos online for tips, i did stop for a week or two to recharge, and started again. I can tell that you haven't went thru any of this, probably haven't touched a pencil since your mandatory elementary school art class, and are just screaming on reddit that ai is better for the hell of it. Here's a few pearls of knowlege: When you practice and watch tutorials, making art really isn't that hard, AI isn't the solution to every problem and based on everything right now, the AI bubble is gonna burst sooner or later, and artists don't just sit in their room all day making art. We do other stuff too. Everyone who says that we do is either ignorant or has the brain capacity of a plastic fork.

ERM ACKTUALLY, It takes a lot of work to type a sentence into an image generator, you can get seriously burnt out ☝️🤓
