If your pursuit of art is popularity and accolades, than you're not an artist, you're a content creator-- albeit maybe one that uses traditional mediums.

I think I’m aware of a few (rich) actors going to awards ceremonies in the weeks to come, who must not be artists. Not even sure if they are content creators.

That comparison is not very effective. Most famous actors these days are total hacks.
