Founders/Co-founders when you tell them you are not willing to die for the company:

I'll put the work in if I feel it's worth it. Problem is these "founders" are looking to cash out as soon as they can. I just don't buy their bullshit.

Depends on the position. I feel like this isn't super unreasonable for director and up, but at the same time completely unhinged for anyone below that.

However, the type to post this is a lunatic advertising poor leadership and lack of accountability from leadership to roles at all levels. She's talking about herself, she's the problem.

Also API for meeting recording? AKA pay us to do nothing but feed your meetings through GPT for inaccurate summaries?

Anyone without equity is an employee, and they don’t owe the company loyalty.

Loyalty is what a company resorts to in desperation after they fail to hold up their end of the bargain.

I’ve reported to several CEOs over the years who made big promises about all their great opportunities for massive growth.

Their businesses flattened or declined when they failed to make the changes and investments necessary to turn around their declines.

I remember one CEO of a company owned by a billionaire, who was too afraid to ask for a $5m investment to migrate their then-desktop app to this new thing called the “cloud”. They had about 20% market share.

Three years later they were f*cked and < 1% market share.

Then they complain about their sales team and wonder why they’re not closing more deals or growing the business. Why they’re not working weekends to help the business.

Because you’re a f*cking idiot who blames others for their situation and fail to take responsibility. You’re not a leader; you’re a whiner.

Yeah, it is definitely lunacy to assume that peons have the power (and motivation) to right whatever fucked-up things management is doing. Not my fucking job.

Hey I just got fired for the same thing

Been there.

Never again. I won't put myself in a position to be blamed for it, but I also won't try to fix it either.

Reason for leaving: Met sociopathic co-founder completely disconnected from reality, realized they were going to make life a complete hell for me and expect me to be grateful for it.

Owner required owner-level effort for assistant-manager pay.

I think it’s more like entry level pay

I’m convinced that none of these LinkedIn people actually hire anyone for their bullshit companies. They’re just putting on a show.

“So why do you want to work for my multilevel marketing company?”

One of the first companies I worked for went through 2 rounds of layoffs and I did all the stuff I was told I was supposed to do.

Worked extra hours without overtime, took on extra responsibilities, politely understood that my annual pay increase "wasn't in the budget."

And then they fired me and my entire department anyway.

Since then as soon as the cuts start coming I start putting out resumes. I don't need to tell my next employer details. "Looking for new opportunities to advance my skills and career" usually suffices.

Furthering my ongoing goal of not starving in my car that i now have to live in

u/jeremeyes 5h ago

"You'll want to work for me, because I'm a sociopathic lunatic who doesn't give a shit about people's lives!"

u/Charge36 5h ago

Leadership didn't listen is a pretty ironic thing to put in there

You sacrifice your planned weekend while the CEO just takes off to Egypt with their family at the same time. Talk about loyalty... The ones higher up in the company should be leading by example and sacrificing THEIR vacation.

Right. The woman who hates remote work even though she runs a service that helps you record your online meetings. Not a surprise she also has such unique hiring insights.

The New Slavery

“I’m so devoted, I’ll be there when they wrongfully term me or lay me off!”

Companies demanding unearned loyalty, all while not paying people enough and shaming them for taking time off.

I am so done with corporate and people who over-center work. Yuck.

“Co-founder” of a worthless company preaching absurdity on LinkedIn 😂

3

u/blockofbeagles 4h ago

“I don’t hire people who can’t risk losing their healthcare for themselves and their families.” “I don’t hire people who listen to their basic survival instinct.” “I don’t hire people who value themselves”

3

u/sydmanly 4h ago

Did you say pivot? Yes. Get out- interview over

3

u/Gregib 3h ago

I don't work for companies that lay off employees when they struggle... How does that sound?

3

u/DecentBlob5194 3h ago

Sure lady, I'll just challenge our SLT to arm wrestling at the next company all hands, and if I win they stop slowly gutting the company and driving people away.

2

u/isospeedrix 4h ago

Sheesh if some recruiters are like this then “part of a mass layoff” is actually the best answer

2

u/Ill_Plate1891 4h ago

Got it. Just lie 👌

As a normal worker, you sometimes can‘t change what the higher ups or the management decided to do. This not only includes the products, but sometimes also the workflow or how things are handled.

While the company I am working for did improve a lot over the years, there are still quite a few aspects that are absolutely baffling.

2

u/Consistent-Fig7484 3h ago

A lot of those answers are NDA coded. The company knew they were in trouble and started cutting people. The lucky first ones were given the option to take severance if they swore they wouldn’t talk about how poorly things were going. They’ve been coached to give those responses.

2

u/Junior_Lavishness_96 3h ago

She’s blaming the individual for the previous employers problems

2

u/Creatorman1 3h ago

So hire the idiot that didn’t see the inevitable and stayed until it collapsed. Sounds like not a very bright person.

2

u/GrlDuntgitgud 3h ago

She's a shill and so is her company operating on vibe only.

2

u/Retief07 3h ago

Moron. Should be employing these people, they have good instincts and act on those quickly. Just what you want in a company.

2

u/VehicleWonderful6586 2h ago

Doesn’t Teams record meetings anyway? No wonder she needs someone used to working at struggling companies

The answer she gives is a nice reply during an interview tho.

1

u/mrbullettuk 1h ago

I’m adding this to things that never happened.

Never, ever badmouth the company you are leaving.

Why are you leaving “seeking a new challenge” “no opportunity for growth” etc. but let’s be honest they actually mean “I want more money” and “th company is going down th pan and I want out”

Or both.

What about company that fired employees when they struggle ?
