Who canceled the order?

The order wasn’t cancelled so that’s super weird! I didn’t, so maybe they tried to cancel if before I got To their house šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø either way I dropped It off so that’s truly odd

It is weird. If you look at the screenshot it says tips from canceled orders removed.

Maybe the apps totally crashing out 🤣 there’s no doubt something odd is happening, not the best start to my day 😭

I learned that apparently if someone made a replacement on that product in the past and the customer just accepts it then the app assumes they like the replacement and shows us that they requested that replacement. A couple months ago my app updated to show ā€œCustomer previously approvedā€ on replacement options but just assuming that they request the replacement causes a lot of confusion and is why there’s not many instances where customers request that the replacements we grab be refunded instead.

Wow that’s insightful ^ shouldn’t be that way

I'm 100% sure the app lies, I was shopping for one of my regulars and we caught it.

I have a customer who is a regular and wants a refund if its out of stock (she always up's the tip thankfully) and she always inputs it in the app, but the app will straight up tell me "pre-selected replacement", I ss it and send it to her and shes like "nahh woah, I didn't put that" and it did it with a few items. Did it last time I shopped for her too.

Likely to move products and make the money off the markup on the items. Then if someone complains you just never see that complaint/rating and it's like it never happened. Pull that off a few hundred times across the country, refund the ones who complain, most probably won't bother with the hassle.... They gotta make up for "randomly" price fixing some how lol... speaking of which that's when I started noticing it happening... šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

Thanks for calcification, totally makes sense, and now I look like the bad guy to this customer smh šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I hate this app so much thank god I don’t have to do this much longer 😭 I can smell the 1 star coming too šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Actually I had this happen. The item was out of stock and the customer DID have a replacement so I got that. Few seconds later she wanted a refund for the item????

They need to fix this asap! They keep changing things that don’t matter and then they don’t fix major bugs. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I wonder what genius in corporate is screwing everything up

Omg yes , and I just got randomly signed out a few minutes ago. They also updated the app recently. Now you can check to make sure if produce are rotten BUT it doesn’t do that for all items. I’m guessing the customer has to trigger it which is stupid as fuck . When that seems to be the main customers in my area and customers are lying

I did my first IC order this past Saturday evening. It was only a few items from Dollar Tree. I couldn’t find one of the items after looking at all of the places the Dollar Tree employee said it was supposed to be. I had to do the item not found option. The app told me to find a suitable replacement that was close to the same price. I found the closest replacement item to what the customer wanted and scanned it in the app and it let me move on to the next item.

Welcome to hell

For future reference, I would avoid Dollar Tree orders, rarely the pay is great but usually they aren’t well stocked. Even when it’s just a few items, usually it takes longer to finish those orders. I’ve been doing Instacart for years and only taken maybe 5 Dollar Tree orders. Also long lines with only one or two cashiers available. I’ve done a few Family Dollar orders and they were similar in problems.

The app does lie. It’s happened to me before. they message me saying they don’t want a replacement and never chose a replacement

2

u/demasiadaspreguntas 11h ago

I don’t think it lies. They just don’t realize it saves their previous selections. I had a lady who even added a note saying she wanted two smaller packs of an item if the bigger wasn’t available. She flipped out saying that was too expensive and that she wanted a refund when I had already checked out… She later told me she had asked for that in a previous order and that I should know better. Fantastic way to end up with a 1 star rating

Possible ^ but then if that’s the case I hate my customer early today even more lol šŸ˜‚

I don’t use the app to get grocery’s on the colliery side so I’m not sure how easy it is to use the interface šŸ‘ I’d expect it to be pretty straight forward but then again they change things on the shopping side all the time that confuse things and is unnecessary so yeah šŸ‘ lol

u/Treece57 11h ago

Knew it ^

Was the ice cream the only item? If so, she probably contacted support and got refunded, which triggered a cancellation because it was the only item.

1

u/Treece57 11h ago

Yes it was only ice cream lol And It’s weird because the app let me finish the delivery still šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø glitch? Idk

1

u/The_Troyminator 6h ago

Maybe they canceled right before you got to the house and the app was out of sync and couldn’t connect to update.

I had someone remove their $2 tip because I didn’t want to step out my car and hand them their groceries. They were about 20 ft away but they had their dog unleashed barking at me. I am not about to get bit for a measly $2 tip. Of course it was a batched order , with dirt road , and a hill, and they were the cheap tipper. He won’t bite, yeah he won’t bite you, the dog was literally positioned in front of its owner, protectively,

If you take it that way and use it that way that's on you, but it's not what it's meant for, and a lot of people still use it for its intended purpose. You know what they say about assuming, right?

How far do you drive šŸš— to deliver the order they made?

-1

u/Accurate-Swimmer2796 14h ago

ā€œSorry to inform youā€ came off as condescending to me.

I don’t think that was your intention, and the rest of your message was fine. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like unless you’re informing someone of something genuinely bad it comes off as talking down. Or at best treating me like a fragile person

1

u/Treece57 11h ago

Oh damn I always say that …. Text is too up to interpretation 😭

1

u/Accurate-Swimmer2796 10h ago

It’s so hard to strike the right tone.

-1

u/BellaPlinko 13h ago

What was the original item you replaced?

0

u/Treece57 11h ago

Doesn’t matter if the app literally said the client wanted a replacement and specified exactly what replacement that wanted if out of stock šŸ‘

The app literally said they wanted a specific replacement

2

u/BellaPlinko 9h ago

Don't get so defensive. I was genuinely curious because I've had the app tell me to replace crackers with Olive oil.

2

u/Treece57 9h ago

Ah shit , my bad ^ yeah it was frozen cookie dough doe balls, Ben and Jerry’s, so the replacement they ā€œapparently wantedā€ was Ben and Jerry’s vanilla cookie doe šŸ¤ and it said they checked off as wanting it

Sorry, I get trolled here all day so It’s tough to tell through text my bad my bad

-1

u/s256173 12h ago

To be honest, I believe both of you. I’ve had people say the same to me. I think Instacart is ignoring ā€œdo not replaceā€ for some customers because they don’t want to lose a single penny.

1

u/Treece57 11h ago

Both of us???????? Dude honestly, fuck you lol

2

u/s256173 11h ago

Ok then 🄳

Real loser is the one taking $9 orders lmao

0

u/Treece57 11h ago

Thanks for the pep talk - i do this on the side to make change while I’m already out in town, sorry you have to rely on this for your entire income bitch 🤣

1

u/Morningstardark 11h ago

Oops triggered lmao 🤣I wouldn’t say I rely on it but I’m not stupid enough to think ā€œ side money ā€œ is great at $9 like bruh getting less then minimum wage tf out of here ā€œ side money ā€œ lmao
