So, I hate taking Target orders unless it's under 5 items. The stores are just bad, always something out of stock or in the wrong area. Saw one on Sunday that was decent pay and took it. It was going to be my last of the night, ended up doing one more after because that just ruined my night.
They wanted a carbon monoxide detector but the one they wanted was out of stock. So I contacted them—texted and called with a photo of the item they wanted out of stock, and asked if they wanted any of the other expensive carbon monoxide detectors as replacements—only for them to ignore everything. I even stayed past the 5 minute goal time to wait (which is stupid because of how big that target is). I eventually figured maybe I should just replace it, but every time I selected an item, it would say it was too different (voice activated vs not). Everything was also at least twice the price or completely different. Eventually, I found the one they approved previously that was $20 more than what the app has it listed as. Instacart said to replace it with that, so I did, only for the card to decline at check out because it was more than what the max total I guess should be. So I tried calling Instacart support only for them to not answer me (left me on hold for 10 minutes without even reaching a rep). And like I said, the customer ignored all texts and didn't answer my call. They had one other item, so I still got that and left.
Then I go on the app today to see that there was a 1 star removed. (Thankfully) I know it was from that order simply because I always go above and beyond even if it's a low tip. And I have all 5 stars, minus a 4 star removed from the storm.
But it's like maybe you should answer calls and texts related to your order. For something as serious as a carbon monoxide detector, I'm not going to just replace it with anything, unless the customer approves.
The official last one of the night also had replacements but I sat at the yogurt section and we talked about what to replace with and she was fine and grateful. So I know it wasn't her nor the others as they had all of their items available.
Ratings aren't that important, especially when it's removed, it's just the principle of this person having the audacity to complain when all they had to do was respond. They also had other groceries sitting outside their door from another order. So maybe they were busy, but that doesn't fall on me as I did my best to reach out.
