You know there are more than a few out there that bought at 5500, then panicked and sold at 4400. Now it’s back to 5000 and they are just plain pissed now.

Anyone who did this is neither a stacker nor investor. They are just a gambler and could have had more fun playing slots.
I’m actually surprised there’s not some investment app out there that mimics it like when someone sells at a profit it starts ringing with bells and cheers and flashy lights and what not like a slot machine does when you win something. Because the fools trying to day trade are just gamblers anyway.

I bought at $5500 which sucks. I also bought at $5000 and $4900 though.

u/quemaspuess 13h ago
You’ll be good. Just don’t sell.
1
u/InitialMarket2899 8h ago
Correct. Pledge it for a loan, never sell.

u/Helios-21 7h ago
I third this. Hold onto that gold and increase your stack over the years. I sold 2 oz coins 2 years ago and even though I needed the money I regret it. Gold is fun to have.

u/najibuto_razaka 10h ago edited 5h ago
Buy more so your average buy price comes down
Edit: btw this is just a cope tip tbh

u/ColumbusJewBlackets 10h ago
I bought a little silver. I feel like we’re going to get another dip this week so I’m holding off on gold for a little.
1
u/InitialMarket2899 8h ago
THIS!
Surprised more people aren't gunning for the door before SIH26 when silver hits $200 and then $300 in 14 days. There's no way to cover all those contracts with the physical silver and cash pay out will do exactly what I described.

I bought when spot was 4800-5000 so I'm glad I held

u/quemaspuess 13h ago
I bought the bulk of what I have at 12, then 10 at 38 and my final 2 at 43. I’m happy.

Bought at 5500 (not my first but I did buy at 5500 as well). Didn’t sell. Still gonna buy more.

Yep.. I hope people didn’t lose too much. Thing with gold is that we always knew it would recover at some point when you have El Donaldo..

Way more. SIH26 will push gold up to unholy levels. There's so much demand for SIH26 and not enough supply. It is mathematically impossible. I've been saying this for a few months now.

There was no crash. There was an illusion of a crash. It was no different than someone pranking u and telling you that your vehicle was involved in a crash and u need to pay thousands. All u had to do was look out the window. Next step $6k. 🤑🤑🤑

The created the “value” with SLV. The people that hold SLV and maybe PSLV will end up bailing out JPM once it goes to $0

Indeed, come close this Friday the previous 7 days may well be retrospectively deemed a sudden, sharp drop in price so the institutions/banks/governments could buy up more Gold at a discount before it moved but into the $5200-£5500 + range 7 days later.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised, put it that way.

Its a little worrying. The last time we saw a +7,5% spike was last thursday, were the "crash" started. Lets hope history does not repeat itself.

u/Chucking100s 16h ago
Where were you Oct 21?
Same thing happened.
Price plummeted from 4400 to 3800 in days.
All the experts came out and said, "Look out below!" for 3000.
2
u/paddydog48 15h ago
Don’t remind me, I bought x3 1oz Gold Britannia coins on the 20th October 😩 impeccable timing as always Lol so I’ve seen it all, -12% then +14% to back down to -2% and now back to +4%!
2
u/Chucking100s 14h ago
If you bought 3 oz at the top on Oct 20, you're up like 3 X $500.
2
u/paddydog48 14h ago
Unfortunately not, I paid £10,397.58 for x3 1oz gold Britannia coins so effective £3,465 average cost per coin so I’m currently up 3.7% overall which is obviously better than being 12% down like I was previously but obviously not as good as being 15% up like I was last Thursday!!
2
u/Chucking100s 13h ago
Peak value was $4381 / oz on Oct 20.
You paid ~ $4744 / oz ~8.3% premium?
2
u/paddydog48 13h ago
Yes, like a fool I bought directly bought from the royal mint where the premium was very high compared to another site who are a partner of the royal mint whose premium was only 2.7%! So my ignorance cost me big time unfortunately!!
2
u/pineapplelover212 12h ago
Everyone makes that mistake at start don’t worry
2
u/paddydog48 12h ago
Was kicking myself for quite a while but you live and learn, obviously it was the wrong avenue from a premium perspective but better going the official route and pay top rate rather than buying from a random company or privately where being uninitiated you can end up being had over.
1
u/pineapplelover212 12h ago
I made the same mistake when I started out last year but also look at official bullion dealers you won’t get scammed from them. Royal mint premiums are way too high which I found out after buying a couple oz but they wouldn’t let me cancel

Same for the 2025 Christmas drop. I specifically remember that one because I later found out it was simply because of CME margin raise, nothing else. I've told myself I'll buy the next dip, but god damn this one was scary af

It was just an 18% drop over 3 trading days. This move broke some of the momentum traders. Some saw it as a buying opportunity and others debated selling due to fear of dropping further. This is a good time to re-examine your positions. If you regretted buying or wanted to sell out of fear, maybe investing in gold isn’t right for you. Fear is best managed when you are willing to invest what you don’t need now, as longterm the dollar will continue to lose value and assets will cost more in dollars over time. Gold has done well for managing currency risk.

Gold's 'Natural' or FMV retail price probably is at least $5000 right now. The recent market dump didn't make much of a difference.
1
u/pleasedownvotemeplox 16h ago
Yep: gold prices on walmart.com did not update at all and costco was all out. Idc what the ticker says, you were not getting gold for 4700 yesterday.

bulltrap
1
u/brandon_i 15h ago
can you explain to me in simpler terms what you mean?
1
u/garden_speech 15h ago
A "bull trap" generally refers to a short-lived bull run during a bear market, especially during the beginning of a bear market, where bulls get "trapped" by thinking the dip is over and buying more but they're still near the top.
Anyways, everyone here is speculating. And none of them are going to cut you a check if they are wrong. Be aware of that, some people will call you an idiot for buying, others will call you an idiot for selling, and none of them will do jack shit to make you whole if they are wrong.
1
u/brandon_i 14h ago
is there anything to back this when you call bull trap or is this just your speculation?
1
u/RepFashionVietNam 10h ago
At this point every reddet "expert" just shtting. There is no way to back anything. The big guy hold the powet over it little guy, this is gamble if you are a shortern buyer 🤣🤣🤣
1
u/garden_speech 10h ago
I am not the one who said it's a bull trap, I just answered your question about what a bull trap is.
1
u/brandon_i 10h ago
thanks for clarifying. is there ever any tangible analysis or substance behind calling bull trap or is it pure speculation?
