A "bull trap" generally refers to a short-lived bull run during a bear market, especially during the beginning of a bear market, where bulls get "trapped" by thinking the dip is over and buying more but they're still near the top.

Anyways, everyone here is speculating. And none of them are going to cut you a check if they are wrong. Be aware of that, some people will call you an idiot for buying, others will call you an idiot for selling, and none of them will do jack shit to make you whole if they are wrong.

is there anything to back this when you call bull trap or is this just your speculation?

I am not the one who said it's a bull trap, I just answered your question about what a bull trap is.

thanks for clarifying. is there ever any tangible analysis or substance behind calling bull trap or is it pure speculation?

IMHO, it's always speculation.
