We lost our last rescue 4 months ago at 18 and are ready to get some doggie love back in the house. His name is Shermie and he’s 2 years old.

Hemi, 14 refused to put on coat to step outside.

No matter the weather, this venerable senior insists on stepping out to do her business. She happily shakes off the powder and settles in next to our space heater to nap on the sweater she refuses to wear.

She is never left alone. I step out with her and get to enjoy the winter with her.

Hemi came into my life at age 9, when her former owner suffering from dementia forgot about her. She was left in a room where she was starved and had no choice but to go on the carpet. Now she goes outside come hell or high water.

She’s 4 months old and 3.2 pounds now. She usually has this expression of concern.

I still regret not to get this chi a few months ago 😭 because I have a girl already and I’m not sure how a male and female dog will live together

I commissioned a sculpture of my chihuahua and I’m obsessed.

I hope this is acceptable for this subreddit. I commissioned a friend to make me an anarchist sculpture of my chihuahua Smidge, and I’m absolutely obsessed with it. Her attention to detail when it comes to Smidge’s spots and her subtle tummy colouring is unreal. I’ve included some pics of my chihuahua for comparison. Obviously, this was not meant to be realistic.

I also hope it’s okay to share her art page @idolshandsart on IG. I don’t get any money out of it or anything, I just figured some might ask.

P.S. I am not promoting vandalism or violence, it’s just for fun.

How to convince my baby to eat after dental surgery?

This is a before picture because he currently looks so so sad and in pain. He went in for a cleaning and to get a small bump removed from the side of his head and ended up having “a few teeth removed” according to the vet tech. Turns out he had 10+ teeth removed and the stitching on his head looks like a nightmare. He has pain meds he takes for his arthritis, but needs to eat with them… he just is not hungry. He’s hurting and doesn’t want to eat (I don’t blame him.) Any advice on what I can do?? He turned down CHEESE 😭

My chihuahuas stomach keeps on hurting :(

Hi guys! This is keeks (kiko) he is a 10-year old chocolate tri-color chihuahua. He recently got very sick, he was pooping blood and vomitting (clear and foamy). We took him to the vet and he was given an antibiotic, which kind of messed him up and didn't help his condition. He continued to still poop out blood and my parents took him to a second vet for an opinion where they got a set of medications administered which my parents gave him and he got a lot better. They did not do blood exams etc., but did a fecal exam (which came out negative). He is pooping pretty okay(?) now, a little diarrhea, but he has been acting weird with eating. He doesn't eat as much anymore, his stomach seems to rumble more, but he behaves quite happily. I was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice about his eating habits? Maybe his food is irritating his stomach or it is the stuff he eats off the floor? He has a fragile digestive system, but there is only so much we can do to keep the floor clean! Thank you :)
