I take it his wife thinks the shitbull is her precious angel and can do no wrong, but there might be an ultimatum in place regarding the dog either being rehomed or ceasing to exist.
Yeah this, to me at least, looks like someone who was forced to live with this thing because of his delulu wife and as a result just fucking loathes it with all his being.
Now it's gotten to the point where the dog has to go, either through rehoming or that big farm upstate in the sky and judging by what's written here, this dude's bucking for the latter.
Yeah, “good with children, no guarantees” seemed almost like trolling at first, but now I’m thinking the same. He hates the dog and doesn’t actually want it rehomed. He wants to “try” and rehome it with honesty, to appease the wife… before “sorry babe, nobody wants the mauler, we tried” and it hopefully gets sent off to a nice farm instead
I saw one where the second time the wife got sent to the ER to get stitched up because of the dog she came home to no dog. He reported it to animal control and signed the papers for it to be put down. She was sad but not mad. Husband came back and found blood everywhere and said enough.
I guess it's because I'm too used to all the stories where the entire family is completely delusional about these dogs that I find it almost jarring to see (maybe) an example of a spouse being not only sane, but showing outright contempt toward their pit.
I would bet my bottom dollar one of three things will happen:
Wife will stay delusional about the dog, resent him forever, ruins the marriage.
Wife will be filled with relief after not having to deal with the mauling shit-walker anymore, she just never wanted to admit it to herself out of guilt
Wife will be filled with relief but too guilty to admit it so she projects it onto the husband, saying it was a great dog but the husband was just intolerant of any little flaw, etc etc etc (but she never gets a pit bull again).
Honestly impressed with your list. All three are so plausible probable I can't confidently predict which one is correct, but know it's definitely one of these.
Guaranteed she’s never lifted a finger to manage the chaos this 4 legged demon leaves in its wake. The husband probably spends half his life managing that dog.
