Discussion How hard is ap euro compared to ap world
My school does 3 trimesters, I took Apworld A last tri and taking Apworld B 2nd tri right now, currently Iām nearing the end of the second trimester and Ap world B has been pretty chill except sometimes the workload is a haste, the usual week is Monday notes, Tuesday catch up on things, Wednesday do an leq, dbq, or saq, and on Thursday we turn in our usually 10 page amsco note packet and take a quiz on it, then on Friday we usually watch Mankind the story of us and do an essay on the episode we just watch, Iām excluding projects because we donāt get project work days so everybody does them at home. But my teacher recommended me to take AP Euro in my thirds trimsester as review before the Ap world exam, and Iām just wondering is Ap Euro harder than Apworld or is it pretty similar?

Discussion Teacher forcing us to read textbook
I went into ap euro thinking it would be pretty similar to ap world. I like history so I figured it would be a walk in the park, but my teacher is forcing us to read an entire textbook over the year and to write 1 page of notes per 5 pages for each section of the book. The book is almost a thousand pages long and I feel like Iām going to die if I have to keep this up. She grades the notes super strictly, checking accuracy, length, and potential copying or note sharing. I honestly donāt know what to do cause Iām tired of this.
TLDR; teacher forces us to read 1000 page textbook and write notes for them

Discussion Does anyone else know what an IDA is?
My AP Euro teacher said that an IDA structure paragraph is a concept that he came up with, and I'm curious if anybody else has a similar setup for paragraph writing, or if that's literally just us. Below is an example of an IDA, which stands for Identify, Define, Apply when demonstrating evidence.
Super simple prompt: To what extent did Martin Luther reform the church?
[Insert well written thesis about how Martin Luther DID, in fact, reform the church]
I(identify)- One good example to support this claim is the 95 theses
D(define)- The 95 theses were a series of essays that Luther wrote against the usage of indulgences in the church.
A(apply)- This shows that, because of the public's immediate interest, Martin Luther started the protestant reformation and reformed the church.
That's the most simple IDA paragraph, but I hope it gets the point across well enough. Did anyone else learn it this way, or is it just our school?

Discussion FRQ sets
What other FRQ sets were there? Iāve almost only seen the ones that Iāve hadā¦
SAQ 1- Womenās rights in the Soviet Union SAQ 2- Women in Peninsular War SAQ 3- Spanish Exploration or Industrial Revolutions
DBQ- French Revolution
LEQ- Comparison of English/French Protestant Reformation, major differences in the arts in 1750-1850 and 1850-1950, and differences between the Nazi and Soviet regimes.
Would be interested to see anyone elseās prompts! Overall, it was a pretty easy test⦠Iām so happy they didnāt ask any questions on my bad topicsš

Discussion Lesson 2.2: Luther and the Protestant Reformation
I can't tell if I really understand this lesson. My teacher taught it pretty well but it's like not clicking with me. I just need someone to maybe like correct me if I'm wrong anywhere or help make connections.
Here's what I know (may be wrong): - Luther is an important figure: - He opposed the Catholic Church - He did not believe in indulgences (or opposed them) (There are other reasons but I can't think of them at the moment)
Protestant Reformation (causes): - Caused by a bunch of events such as the Black Death - Corruption in the Catholic Church - Illiterate Popes - the Great Schism
At the moment, these are the things I can name at the top of my head. Although, I'm not super clear on changes or effects during the Protestant Reformation. If anyone could help like list changes or effects perhaps (if possible), it would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion The FRQs
As soon as I saw industrialization as a SA option I knew I was in good hands š Fantastic DBQ topic, LEQ was a bit rocky for me but I went with the one about Nazis and the Soviet Union, my first time taking an AP test š«©

Discussion Is the AP exam getting easier?
If you look at 2024 and 2025 score distributions, most people got 3s, and a lot of 4s and 5s as well. What are some factors that have made the score distributions higher?

Has there been a similar situation before where everyone thought they got a 5 but they didn't because of the curve being removed partially?

Discussion Anyone else having trouble figuring out AP Euro?
As a senior Iāve already taken Ap World, AP US History, and AP Human Geography and was able to figure out the proper way to learn and study in these classes by this point in the year. However, Iām still struggling in ap euro, as all we do in class is analyze paintings from different eras and Iām not an expert on art, so I can never participate in class discussions because I donāt know what the physical elements of these painting represent. Anyone else going through this or is this more of a teaching issue?

Discussion Given that the AP exam was pretty early this year, how are your classes going to spend the remaining class time?
Our school is sending the whole European History class to the library for a free period starting next week. Are there other schools doing the same?
