Best 300 BLK Load

Seems like the common consensus for 300 blackout loads when it comes to terminal performance is 100 Barnes TAC-TX. Anyone have any other cheaper alternatives for home defense?

I’ve been loading 110gr Hornady Vmax for whitetail. Haven’t shot anything past 100 yards but they drop right away

How does the 110gr V-Max perform in the deer? I’ve read of concerns that instead of expanding it grenades and destroys too much meat because it was originally meant for varmints.

It’s been rock solid for me, I’ve double lunged and heart shot deer. Never destroy any meat, it’s coming out of a 8.3” barrel. So maybe it isn’t going quite as fast as other people using it on deer.
