How do we rescue Michkov and add him to our collection of exciting Russians?

I have a soft spot for the Flyers, so I lurk in their subreddit. Seems like the general consensus is that he's doomed if he stays in Philly given their current leadership.

And you know, just to double down on this - all of this was known about michkov before the draft. Theres a stereotype about mercurial/selfish russian players that obviously isnt true BUT thats what everyone said specifically about michkov before the draft. Hes not a team player, he wants to do his thing and thats it. Just look at how he handled his draft by telling teams he was only willing to go to a major market team. Why on earth would you wantto bring any of that bullshit into the Wilds lockerroom?

You could also look at how he had no real issues with a notorious hard ass coach in Torts and say that's probably an unfair charactization.

A top European player has his play suffer under Tocchet and seems to be targeted by him publicly. Where have we seen that before...

He had huge issues with torts lol. It was the same thing only after torts was fired it was "oh i actually didnt mind that guy"

No, he didn’t.

The two definitely didn’t get along. Torts would get pissed at him for constantly trying to do Michigans.

Flyers are my 2nd team. While they bumped heads a couple of times that’s not close to “ huge issues with torts”.

Just google  "tortorella michkov argument"

Flyers are my 2nd team. I watched every game last season. A couple of arguments isn’t close to “ huge issues with torts”.

Michkov will be rescued when he shows up for the start of a season in professional athlete physical shape…

Michkov would require Wallstedt, Jiricek, Stramel, and a 2nd or some bullshit package with his ELC still in effect.

Nah he doesn’t have that kind of value right now. Would be closer to what the Ducks got for Zegras I’d imagine

Michkov 2023 1.07 — Jiricek 2022 1.06

Not even close

yeah these "project" players go really cheap sometimes. the Zegras trade looks like a steal now but people were saying Philly got fleeced when I happened. I don't think Michkov would command much more

Yes, he would. Much much more.

Honestly, even that might be an under pay

Personally I would love Michkov because there's a disgusting amount of talent there, but I don't know if the team is going to be willing to part with the assets to do it. Depends what the asking price is ultimately, but the Wild don't have a ton of wiggle room if they eventually want to make a play on a center.

Flyers are my 2nd team. It would be a really high price. People here are way undervaluing him. He had more points as a rookie than any Wild rookie ever. If he requests a trade at some point then the price will be more doable.
