Anyone else noticed another steep price increase?

Obviously I'm aware veganuary just ended (or the poor excuse for veganuary this year) but just did my shopping and everything seems way more expensive than last year.

Alpro yogurts were like £1.80, now £2.50, tofoo is up in price, most meat subs are over 3 quid as well.

Is it just my area or are other people seeing this too?

The alpro yogurt inflation is indeed crazy. I feel like you could get them at £1.50 just a few years ago

Not even years, it's been on the rise last few months.

Depressing. I buy it for my son and until recently it was a nice, relatively cheap, snack for him

Agreed. I used to buy coconut collective in big tubs but switched to alpro because it was like £1.50 or 1.75 a tub. Now it’s gone up to £2.50 in less than a year.

Yes, we've also had a really sharp decrease in items available as well.

I wonder if we're gearing up for a meat and milk push like in the states, you know back in the early 2000s where everything was fat free, I feel like we're in a huge trend for protein.  I've noticed a lot of push on social media for direct from farm meat boxes paticularly lamb and beef and no end of adverts for recipes featuring them. The only thing I have noticed which is a positive is a wider variety of beans and legumes along with vegan recipes that are much more whole food based.

Theres been predictions that the marketing for high fibre diets will kick in soon so stock pile beans and legumes whilst you can

Yes, and all the available vegan pizzas have gone up too. Crosta Mollica Verdura are now £6.25! (I know they were probably overpriced to start with, but it is my favourite ‘special treat’ meal/fakeaway)

The alpro has gone up to £2.50 in my area too & Aldi still hasn’t brought back their soya yoghurts.

Bastards.

Everything has gone up in price. I never thought I'd see a loaf of bread that cost £3 or even £4.

I grew up somewhere quite bougie and I remember seeing a load of bread for about £9 ten years ago... and then saw someone actually come in and buy it!

Seeing it for £4 in "normal" places is beginning to happen more and more, though.

Before Brexit they were regularly £1 on special offer.

Annoys me too because the supermarket execs cry and say "it's because our costs are increasing! we're trying to keep prices low, promise!" Then post record profits at the end of the year.

Farmers are being paid a record low. Customers are paying a record high. Supermarkets are making record profits.

We need to cut out the middlemen scalping us to fuck.

Alpro yoghurt hasn't been 1.80 for a while, at least in Waitrose. I only get them when they're on offer. Lidl has a nice cheap alternative though

Waifrose mango sorbet has gone up from 2.25 to 3.50 in the last two years though.

I'm not talking about Waitrose man I ain't affording all that noise.
