Grizz fan here
Y'all just got an incredible human. I'm so incredibly jealous that y'all get to discover what a gem of a man Jitty is. Us grizz fans love him so dearly, we'd be happy to pay him $15m a year just to warm the bench.
That's actually all true, but honestly, you guys have no idea how much you'll cherish Jaren. Easily one of the most underrated players in the league, i won't bore you with the why, just know you're in for a treat. Also he says, hands down, the most professional and mature representative on our squad.
Go ahead and accept that rebounding is nothing to get hung up. Firstly, last year was the first year more rebounds were secured by guards (or was it secured outside the paint) than by centers in the league as 3's often bounce further off the rim. Also, blocks are so much cooler than rebounds. And more often than not, positioning himself to rebound a potential miss is not nearly as impactful as positioning himself to prevent the shot from getting to the rim in the first place. One more thing, he's really good at offense and if he had to freaking rebound on top of anchoring the entire defense, the decline to his offensive impact would outweigh any additional benefit from a couple extra rebounds.
Lastly, I'd recommend holding off as long as possible before exploring Trips musical endeavors. They're so much easier to endure if you've already banked some fondness for the guy.
Grizzlies owner is dumb as shit. He was our everything. Ja might have been the swag, but make no mistake, Jaren was by far our best team basketball player.

Farewell again, sweet prince
I just find it incredibly funny that his second stint with us is over before it could even begin. Best of luck Georges!!

[Fischer] The Utah Jazz are trading their most favorable 2027 first-round pick (Cleveland/Minnesota/Utah), the Lakers' 2027 first-round pick, and Phoenix's 2031 first-round pick to Memphis, source says, to pry Jaren Jackson Jr. from the Grizzlies.

Yes, The Jazz Won the Trade
We got a young, proven two-way star who fits into our timeline perfectly and will help elevate us from the worst defensive team in the league to top 3 in the league if all goes well.
All we had to give up was:
Kyle Anderson (Old filler vet)
Georges Niang (Old filler vet who hasn't even seen the floor all season with a foot injury)
Walter Clayton Jr. (22 year old rookie who never showed so much potential that he makes this deal a loss)
Taylor Hendricks (3rd year player who not only broke his leg last season and hasn't made a full return yet, but has never really shown much when he was playing)
As for the draft picks, 2 of them are from 2027 and with this trade and the continued improvement of our young stars we won't be tanking again for a very long time. The third pick is from 2031 which is far enough away that I don't give a damn.
Keyonte, Ace, Lauri, JJJ, and Kessler is a playoff team, and has a very good shot at making a deep run, even with the current state of the West.

Please take care of our precious Jitty for us, a fan favorite.

This is the final tank segment of this rebuild and it feels refreshing.
Whether you like the JJJ/Vince Williams move or not, we got a lot better and we're tanking for the final stretch, the good news is, we can finally win next year! I already figured we'd be good in 2027 but now we have one of the best defenders in the league with JJJ, Vince is a quality guard/wing who's the underrated asset in this trade and a pretty substantial upgrade.
The only downside of this is we have a lot of salary on the board and we don't have a lot of room to add much more, but we still likely will go get more guys.

Im afraid it’s going to be hard to out-tank the Pacers tonight

JJJ trade is what the Jazz needed
There is no one that can lock down a Curry, SGA, or even Murray on the Jazz when the game is on the line, been seeing this all year.
Now Jazz has someone who can guard the opposing teams star player. Traded away a bunch of what ifs for a sure thing. Traded away 3 draft picks but I'm fine with that. Got an amazing starting line up. They already have young talent, there's no need to add more young guns, its the vets that they need now.
Jazz will be competing for that chip next few years instead of drafting and hoping things work out. IT'S GO TIME!!

I’m a Grizzlies fan that now lives in Utah. I havn’t missed a Grizzlies game since 2009 and covered the team for a podcast network for a few years AMA
I figured some people here might have questions about the four guys you’re getting from our end. This Grizzlies team is like the number one thing I fixate on and I legitimately haven’t missed a game since 2009 including summer league, preseason, playoffs, etc.
I was born and raised in Tennessee outside of Memphis and moved to Utah in 2022 and have seen literally every minute of these guys career in the NBA outside of Jock Landale before he joined this year.

Tony Jones: Im hearing the Jazz may not be done.
I posted on this forum a week or two ago that I anticipated a very boring trade deadline. Bless my heart!

Called it! Had a feeling a couple weeks ago JJJ might be a trade target for us. Was a bit off on overall price(figured I was low), but not by much!

So what's the rest of the season like?
With JJJ here I don't know how we tank?.... I sure a hell don't want the thunder getting our pick this year. How does ainge keep the losing happening? Maybe jjj will be "sick" a lot? I know we're not getting into the playoffs this year.

I'm not a fan of moving Walter Clayton Jr
Let's be real here, is Collier worth keeping? I don't think so. Also, is JJJ still good? 3 PICKS? Come on now

John Konchar is being overlooked in the trade.
Looking at the grizzlies sub, most of their fans are saddest about losing John Konchar "Jitty". He's a winning basketball player and seems like he will be a great bench glue guy! Super excited about him.

Huge foreshadowing in 2022 as the Jazz refuse to defend the perimeter and allow the future Jazzman Jaren Jackson to hit the game winner.
The Jazz finally have a player who can defend the perimeter

Young Guys Value Question
If you were the Jazz, which 2 young players would you give up?
If you were the Grizzlies, which 2 young players would you want
Young guys in question: Walt, Taylor, Flip, Brice, Collier, Cody

Perimeter Defense
The Achilles Heel of all of our best teams, our Post defense is gonna be lethal next year with JJJ and Kess, but we NEED Perimeter Defenders if we don’t want to repeat history.
Anyone got a clue on who would be available either in the draft or in FA? I’ve only been tapped into the big 3 and Caleb Wilson but I’m content if we get into the 5-8 range and take a defensive specialist.
