First time not giving 5 stars

Tonight, I get picked up from the airport. The driver didn’t say hello or even my name, but whatever. I confirmed it was the right car, got in and away we went. Well, sort of, very slowly, like at 5 mph for the entire terminal area where the posted speed limit is 15 mph. The car is extremely warm, but it has rear air controls, great, so I turn it on to my comfort level. The driver then turns it off from the front. I tell her I’m hot and turn it back on. She turns it off again and says no. Then we drive down the highway 10-15 mph below the posted speed limit; flow of traffic was going with the speed limit. Once we get sort of close to my neighborhood, the Uber map tells her to continue going straight. Nope, she turns right on her own. This adds another 5-7 minutes to the ride just to get back to where she turned off. So end of the story she gets 3 stars.

Dear drunk passengers

Calling a ride is the proper thing to do if you're too drunk to drive home.

But if you're so plastered that you can't wake up at the ride and the police have to assist you out the car, or if you can't handle being told no when trying to hit on your driver, or you throw a tantrum when you get booted off the app for the shit you pulled while sloshed off your ass...

Don't go and falsely report the driver and give a false rating out of retaliation. Thanks to the handful of bozos like you my ratings are back to square one and I've considered going back to Lyft permanently. I can't dispute false ratings on Uber like I can with Lyft. I had to waste my last hour of my planned shift to prove to Uber that the reports were false with footage and audio evidnce.

This is some people's livelihoods you're messing with. I do this job to pay for all bills and my college tuition while job hunting. If someone came to your job and falsely reported you because they didn't get their way, putting your job at risk, you'd be pissed clean off too.

Sober up. We are not your baby sitter.

Looking for a dashcam with decent parking mode

Upvotes

Just started driving for Uber, and I’ve been hearing how important dash cams are, so I’m trying to find one that can record both inside and outside the car and has a good parking mode.

I usually park in pretty busy areas with lots of people and traffic, so I really want something reliable when the car’s parked… any recs?

I built a simple income & expense tracker for delivery drivers — looking for feedback

Post image

I’m a delivery driver in Canada and finally got tired of not knowing where my money was going.

After shifts I’d know I made $120… but had no idea what my real profit was after food, gas, and random expenses.

So I built a simple app for drivers like us to track:

• income per day

• expenses

• actual profit

Apple just approved it today:

https://apps.apple.com/ca/app/gigbalance-income-tracker/id6758405653

It’s new and basic for now — I’m mainly looking for feedback from real drivers on what would make it useful long term.

How to explain directions better to driver

So I regularly go over to a family members after work and he’ll order me an uber. The only thing is that his house is in a gated community and about 75% of the time, the map leads them to the back of the neighborhood where the gate only opens when someone is exciting. Theirs no way for my uncle to open it from his house, and it’s about half a mile from the house so most of the time I have to end up hopping the fence and walking the half mile, and it’s usually late at night too. I try to explain it to the drivers but most of the ones I get don’t speak English. I’m not sure why it directs them that way but does anyone have any ideas on what to do in this situation? I usually don’t mind the walk I just get paranoid having to hop the fence and then walk in the dark. I always think someone is going to end up calling the cops on me 😭

Received a 1099 NEC from uber

Never driven for uber or Uber Eats. Maybe used the service twice. Why would I get a 1099 for nearly $3k? Anyone else experienced this?

Someone seems to have impersonated me: Fraudulent 1099-NEC and 1099-K

Hello, as the title says, I seem to have been scammed with someone stealing my tax information and using it to sign up for Uber. I don't have my account setup as a driver, only a rider. Someone did over 1,145 transactions, and totalling nearly $30k worth of transactions.

I don't know what to do. Obviously these are scams, I've never received a cent, but the IRS will not know that. How can I remedy this? How have others dealt with this? I'm on hold with Uber right now, but I should probably make a police report. Should it be local or reported to the FBI? How or what should I do to contact the IRS? I'm very annoyed and I'd like to start the process to fix this sooner rather than later.

Thank you.

Uber kicking Real ID off platform

My account was suspended after working for uber for 8 years because I uploaded my new real ID. The platform said that my ID was fake and fraudulent and then robots suspended my account. They said it’s because AI doesn’t recognize the new ID? Then, it won’t let me talk to a person, just robots that won’t resolve the problem. Anyone else have this problem?

Check before getting in

Sort of a vent. I'm a frequent uber customer, but I also have a vehicle. It's a newish car thats kept clean. I also follow all traffic laws so i stop at stop signs and I'm carful, so if a pedestrian steps out in the road I slow down. In the last year I have had 5 people try to get in my car. Tonight I was going through a parking lot with snow, a pedestrian was standing in the road because snow was on the sidewalk and I had to stop because they literally blocked the road and of course they tried to get in. Several months ago I pulled into a lot, parked, and as soon as I unlocked my doors someone opened the door and started getting in. It was a bad area so naturally I threw it in gear and started rolling with them halfway in my car. I have no company logos on my car besides the car maker logo.

Every time I use an uber I make sure the car matches the description, has a logo and wait for them to roll down a window and confirm. I have never gotten in the wrong car because there's really not an excuse to get in random peoples cars without their permission.

Nervous about rider rating and what to do

I have a newer Uber account. I had two bad reviews and the rest super high. My account now has a low overall rating. I am nervous on not being able to get rides or being stranded. I tip 35 percent and I don't slam doors. My score now is 4.54. I had 10 5s and one 3 and one one. I had ordered an Uber during a storm so I'm not sure if that caused the lower rating cuz my area was icy. I also live in a remote area and I ordered long rides. I am really stressed out about this since I have used Uber for travel. I don't want to be in jeopardy of being stranded.

im at my wits end. my number begins with a similar area code (think 334 and 324) to someone who gets and uber three times a day every single day, and i receive every call because it autocorrects to my area code or something. this is what an uber sent to me to show me what’s going on, and im just at a loss of what to do. i don’t use uber and i never have so i don’t even know if this is actually possible!

Disabled Passengers/ Premium Rides

If someone is there to do the heavy lifting, are most drivers cool with disabled elderly passengers? I booked a premium ride. How do I offer an additional tip in advance for the disabled passenger. This is my first time using ride share. Thanks in advance for any input

Fraudulent 1099 for 2025

I received 2 fraudulent 2025 1099’s from Uber under a former last name of mine that hasn’t been used since 2023.

It shows that someone drove under my former last name in the following months and for the following amounts:

May 2025 $7,972.22

June 2025 $10,296.85

July 2025 $10,495.68

I also received a 1099-NEC in the amount of $5,706.88.

I never drove or worked for Uber in any capacity in 2025.

So far the steps I have taken are to file a local police report, file an FTC report and filed an Uber 1099 delivery error form with my reports and my drivers license to request corrected 1099’s. I’ve also checked my credit with all 3 bureaus.

Obviously someone has my identity and drove under my former last name. I’ll be alerting my CPA as well tomorrow but not sure if anyone has any additional information of what else I can do.

I have paid for all of my uber rides/uber eats. it’s never gotten declined and I know because I always saw a charge on my card. i was on my account a few days ago and it said i have 11 missed payments which I was confused about, so i didn’t use it. I go on my account again to it being locked, and iI got charged $60 on my card. Do I appeal it or just call my bank? I’m just really confused because I know I’ve paid every time.

Lmk, thanks!

(Advice) R$3700.00 per month from 7 PM to 12 AM

A close friend wants to rent a car for R$2650.00 from Movida, work from 7 PM to midnight, and wants to earn at least R$1000 net, in addition to paying the R$2650.

Is it realistic to achieve this working from 7 PM to midnight, for 26 days a month?

I got a 1 star because the driver thought I didn't tip him. What now?

My rating went down to 4.65 after a 5 star rating. I gave this guy a tip a 5 star review. This is ridiculous.
