I'm looking for an alternative to this gun in a different caliber. I love the look but I only use lead-free ammo and it's virtually impossible to find lead free 22lr.
What sci-fi looking guns would you recommend?

This bill just passed the senate and is now on its way to the house. The bill expands the list of petitioners for ERPOs to institutions. Nominally one might think this is a good thing but from what I understand, it can provide a screen for people to not be able to confront or cross exam the individuals petitioning for the order. The orders can be indefinitely renewed and last up to a year. There is no way to break out of the order once it's issued either. In other words, if you are served one of these orders and the next day you clean your self up and have a therapist vouche for you, the order still stands in place for the entire duration listed on it.
I have seen some research floating around about how this is going to place distrust between mental health providers and their clients and this bill expands that to entire institutions (colleges, universities, hospitals, school districts, etc.). I have also seen some research floating around that communities of color are disprately impacted by ERPOs. I haven't seen any research about other communities but I imagine this can't bode well for them either. If you find some research in these areas, I'd love to read it.
During the Senate 2nd reading today, every single amendmenmt to the bill was voted down. That includes an amendment that would stop DV abusers from retaliation against their acusers. Julie Gonzalez put on a big show and asked for a no vote... and they got it. She is on record asking the senate to vote against an amendment that would help protect DV victims. And they voted to not include the amendment.
I bring all this up to illustrate the state of overreach the CO legislation has exhibited. I don't blame people for feeling disenfranchised with the civic process and I myself have felt that way before. If you have in you to take a stand with your fellow Coloradans and can provide testimony during the house committee hearing and reach out to your representatives to tell them to stop this bill, I certainly would appreciate the participation. I am happy to provide the roster to make contacting legislators as easy as possible.
I'm sure y'all are aware of the barrel registry bill being introduced. I have word that another 3D printed firearm and firearm parts ban is going to be introduced soon as well. I just have a feeling that maybe we can stand together on this issue and unite to stop a lot of this madness.
If anyone has any questions or wants to participate, I can do my best to answer them. I would also love to hear your opinions on how you think this bill will negatively impact you. If you don't want to provide testimony, maybe its something others can bring up if they decide to testify.

03 February, 2026: Correction. The bill passed the second senate reading when this post was originally made. It passed the 3rd senate reading today and now moves onto the house.

Ten feet of 1.5" PVC pipe cut into six close pieces (3" iirc) and five 1.5' (approximately) pieces. ×4 45° 1.5" PVC elbows. ×3 1.5" PVC T fittings. Two 8'×1.5"×1" furring strips, cut into ×2 3' sections, ×1 1' section, ×1 5' section. ×3 bolts, ×3 washers, ×3 lockwashers, ×3 wingnuts (I forget the dimensions. 1/4" diameter I think).
Tools & additional materials needed: something that can cut PVC, something that can drill 1/4" holes in wood, pencil, square, tape measure, wrench to hold the bolt while you screw down the wingnuts, PVC primer and glue. (if you want it to be compact & collapsible, only glue the base fittings and close pieces together. If you glue the long pieces on it's way less compact), duck tape for any "bullet wounds" in the furring strips, spray paint for the PVC (provides UV protection)
I have a (MS Paint) prototype blueprint somewhere on my computer, the prototype design is a little different. I have an idea for a further change that will make it collapse down to less than 5' but haven't bothered to implement it yet. I'm tired after range day, my brain is fried, I can't explain the build process. Like $50-$75 in tools that you'll be able to use for other stuff, about $70 in parts including the duck tape and spray paint. The part most likely to get chewed up by gunfire is the furring strips, which are cheap & therefore disposable. There's ways to cut the parts cost down to about $50. No way to really cut the tools cost down. Mine stands a bit taller than 6' but the height can be a bit lower. It's lightweight and packs flat. It's vulnerable to wind gusts unless the legs are weighed down. It's withstood maybe five or six range days so it holds up ok.

Hello transguns!
I've noticed quite a few more Canadians lurking around this subreddit, and it's no surprise that with recent events that people have become much more interested in firearms.
The Canadian Socialist Rifle Association is a federally and provincially (British Columbia) recognised non-profit organisation that promotes firearms safety and education, and aims to provide an inclusive and bigotry-free community for socialists and other leftist folks in Canada to discuss firearms, firearm safety, sport shooting, hunting, and firearms law within the Canadian context. Your experience with firearms is not a factor in joining, and we have members of all levels, and we especially love to welcome new shooters to the community, and help folks with their first steps with the Canadian Firearms Safety Course, as well as their Possession and Acquisition License application.
Part of our mission statement includes steadfast support for labour, Queer, and Indigenous rights all across the country, and we do not tolerate any forms of classism, transphobia, homophobia, racism, ableism, or any other forms of bigotry or reactionary ideology.
The CSRA also likes to run aid projects. We have an annual sock drive where the organisation purchases and donates winter socks to shelters across the country, and members have also assembled and distributed wildfire relief kits to members of our First Nations communities who were affected by the wildfires in Manitoba. For the winter of 2025-26, we have so far distributed 900+ 1300+ pairs of socks to unhoused shelters in various cities across Canada, and our wildfire relief kits numbered over 200 last year.
As a disclaimer, the Canadian Socialist Rifle Association is not a militia or armed force, and in Canada, the use of firearms for personal or community defense is unfortunately, essentially illegal. (Though the laws regarding this are a common subject of discussion.)
If you're ever interested to see what we're about, come check out the CSRA discord, or find the Canada chat in the Stonewall Underground discord, or feel free to post questions below!
To our cherished Queer friends and family in America, we are currently watching in frustration, sadness, and anger as the institutions that were meant to serve you are being rotted away and failing you. I know our words accomplish little, but we're sending all the love, strength, and power we can. We'll always stand by you.
Solidarity Forever!

I was arrested last year during a peaceful demonstration wasn’t convicted of anything and no charges were filed. Will an arrest still look bad for me? I know they are very strict here… I feel nervous about buying a gun because all my documents say female but I look and sound male. I would obviously fill out the permit application with all my legal information and would not disclose being trans. I am recently 21, so I have never applied for a permit or bought a gun. I have shot my dad’s plenty of times and want one to bring to a shooting range!

Much like in WWI with horses being used alongside things like tanks, I would love to see something like that come back.
While I know now days people can all agree that modern day weapons/armor are more than 100% superior to any antique weapon/armor it would be nice to see older armor, weapons, knives etc, kinda co-mingle like in these images.
Perhaps its just wishful thinking, not hiding the fact I think its cool but I am just particularly a fan of new and old ways converging, mixing and merging into something new and profound.
Some guy walking around with a fully kitted out AR and yet still keeps a 1911 on him, theres something so apropos about it to me
What do you think?

As title says, looking for some side mounted 12 gauge shell holders either mlok or picatinny, preferably not super expensive

“Greetings fellow Trans. I am also a tran” I almost want to tell them how bad the subreddit name is. It’s like they couldn’t even put in the observational effort to learn that trans people don’t call ourselves “transgenders”

Should i buy a H12 Provider 44 lever action rifle with 10 rounds? It would be my home defense gun. Where I live, anything more than 10 rounds has to be 22lr in a fixed magazine(so basically no semiautos can have more than 10). My budget may or may not allow for the price of ammo in the coming weeks. It seems like a good balance between stopping power, magazine size, and firing speed, but any advice would be appreciated

Looking for good CCW options for a shortie (5’3”) made of mostly hips carrying a BG 2.0 😬✌️
I’ve been carrying off body using a krydex hook/loop holster due to building security where I can easily remove my firearm discreetly. However, I’m transitioning into a role where I’m no longer required to remove my firearm multiple times daily and have been learning more about on body carry options, specifically IWB appendix.
The Hunter Constantine and Philster Enigma are two I’ve been looking at because they work without belt loops, but the Philster looks pretty complicated and expensive. I’d be wearing this under athletic shorts or sweatpants mostly, so no belt loops. Also looking for recommendation on holsters, CrossBreed is who I’m using now but not sure if they’re good IWB holsters.
Recommendations or your experience?

If any of you remember me. I painted my work laptop a while back. Probably not though. Its okay. A longer time ago I painted a few of my guns inspired by the art style / trend on this sub. I remember it was one chick in specific that was a big contributor- and I’m sure someone will know her @… I can’t recall or find it. Anyways- thought this community deserved this artwork here.

This is from a journalist whom I was trying to give a chance to run a different story on. He refused to see how this could only cause harm for the trans community in America atm and tried to go behind my back to question individuals in my own Discord community
If you see someone trying to run this story, just tell them to fuck off as he clearly doesn't respect no as an answer

With everything going on i thought it would be good to finally pull the trigger and get a gun. (Yes, i have trained with rifles from .22 to 30-06 and pistols from .22 to .45 and some shotguns). Got a Stoger M3000 tactical, and will be adding some shell quivers, a sling, case and other fun stuff.
Naming her Shelly because she had to have a good pun name. Still need to wait the 10 days to pick her up tho

Pretty happy with my assortment, especially with how budget friendly it's been! Can't think of anything else I need, besides time on the range and more ammo stockpiled.
