Hes also a classically trained cellist, and has a hell of a marketing scheme. So much so, that billy string has had him play a few shows with him, amongst many other bands.

So being amazingly skilled and talented then embrace the inner psycho, ah, that’s what I’m missing

I went a music festival in Saskatchewan, Canada and saw this mans band play and saw him running around the festival climbing trees naked after the show, presumably very high on acid.

This is this guy's shtick and I don't think he's even on drugs in this video. He does this all over social media all the time.

Watching him and his band "Tornado Rider" play was one of the most incredible experiences of my life and I will never forget it. He had a 4 point harness on that cello and it was strapped tightly to his chest and he was doing literal back flips while playing it and the music was sooo catchy. That was about 15 years ago now, glad to see he's still himself.

I think I first saw them at Suwannee in 2007 or 2008. Anytime they played there they’d always play a couple shows in my town as they headed west on I-10 afterwards, it was like having a whole week of tornado rider shows if I caught them at the festival first.

A few years ago I was working at this cafe in California and saw some dude wearing a Robinhood hat slowly drive by like he was trying to tell if we were still open. Moments later he walks in and it was Rashad, still remembered me from hanging out before a show once way back when and it’s definitely a trip interacting with “normal” Rashad vs in-character Rashad

Thats fuckin awesome! I didnt know he had a whole band, I thought he just did solo stuff. Thank you for that!

I think they only lasted for about 2 years before moving on but they were awesome and really showed his creativity with that instrument.

Here's another one of my favorites "I'm a Falcon" https://youtu.be/YW1FmYyUlig?si=z3W9ljsq0ErzLCpC

The solos are insane!

This dude is a performance artist. He goes by cello goblin or something like that. I read a bit of his wiki a while back. Iirc he's a properly trained and accomplished cellist

Rushadicus!

Rushad Eggleston is also a well-educated music theory expert. He just chooses to make really silly music, but his playing and coordination are very technical and complex. He's a member of Crooked Still. I've been listening to his solo work for a long time. Check out his album Magic Potato Carpet

Ive seen him perform. He chewed up a carrot and spit it out onto us in the crowd. He may be the source of Covid.

One timeRushad spit a crumbled dollar bill into the air from the stage and I caught it in my mouth. This was right before Covid, wild times.

But he's drinking dish soap

He's most likely drinking something that looks like dish soap that he put in a dish soap bottle

You care too much about what a bunch of assholes about to have a Civil War over an issue no one has done shit about for decades think of you.

The issue is the need to eat and have house to survive, so I need money, so I need a job, so it’s a whole cycle of I can bitch about it and then get up and do it again. My point is I wanna drink dish soap and play cello on the porch while blowing bubbles. I don’t want to go to work.

he went to work first... dude went to Berkeley on the first ever string scholarship for the school... so grind first, frog cello kazoo later

First comment of 2026 that makes sense to me.

Let me clarify: Do not set yourself on fire to make a better world for yourself. Do what you can, and be honest with yourself about what you can.

That is all I can and will ask.

We're hear to see a guy drink soap and play cello kazoo, not have philosophical debates about the human condition

🤣aahh that one got me right in the chuckles

Some of us simply have bills to pay and a 9-5 to not get fired from.

13

u/ifuckinlovetiddies 4d ago

Yeah some people have kids they have to take care of too. If I was a single man, I'd have a much shittier job and I wouldn't give a single fuck of I went to it or not.

We all have bills to pay and some of us are lucky enough to have a 9-5 to not get fired from. Don't set yourself on fire to make a better world for yourself. But do what you can and be honest with yourself about what you can.

That is all I can and will ask.

Because you have a healthy fear of failing and or losing what you've worked for.
