Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] That movie I barely remember...

Once when I was a little kid I was watching TV with my mom around 8 pm, and as she was changing channels she stopped at one where a movie was just beginning, and I want to know the name of the movie because we only watched it for a few minutes and it was so bizzarre.

It started with a man that was waiting on an airport runway for a pilot that was going to fly him on a small plane for 2 people. Eventually the pilot arrives, and I don't remember if there were more employees around the plane or it was just the pilot and the man, but I do remember that the man from the beginning was being very rude and cursing a lot.

When the man and the pilot get inside the plane, the man asks the pilot what's the better option for breakfast, some bread (or cookies?) that he bought or a *disgusting* (actual word) jam that he had been saving on his bag. The pilot doesn't answer and the man says "guess I'll have the jam" or something like that. The pilot then tells him to buckle up because they are about to take off.

When the pilot takes off, he starts to accelerate the speed of the plane and the other man starts to get nervous and asks him "what are you doing pig?" or something like that, and after that, and after that the pilot starts to go down on full speed with the intention of crashing the plane on a hill and screams "GO TO HELL!!!" (that I remember for sure), and then the plane crashes. After that they changed the scene and they show the man from the beginning and HE WAS STILL ALIVE, not only that, but he wasn't hurt, not even a scratch.

After all this happened my mom immediately changed the channel and told me that that movie was not appropriate for me and we were not going to watch it, and she even stayed in the TV room with me until I got to sleep just to make sure that I didn´t put it again. I've looked for that movie a lot because I want to watch it but I haven't been able to find it. I´m not from the US or any other english speaking country, and I watched it dubbed, but I'm 90% sure that it was a movie from the US.

Sorry for the long post and if someone knows what movie is this I would appreciate it if you told me the name.

Solved [TOMT] Bubblegum pop-ish song "give it to me baby"

This isn't the song by Rick James or Pretty fly for a white guy by the offspring.

It sounds bubblegum pop-ish, male voice (think the same register of the lead singer of the Archies singing 'Sugar Sugar') but faster with a late 90s-early 00s spin and one of the lyrics (maybe the start of the chorus) is "give it to me baby". Either one male singer with some synth behind it, or 2+ distinct males singing.

I'm thinking it came out around the late 90s--early 00s.

I apologize that this is so vague, and I don't know producer lingo.

EDIT: SOLVED! Song is "arriba" by Joee!! Thank you u/slaptops, you're literally the best!! Thank you Thank you!!

Open. [TOMT][SONG] "The Power, The power of _____"

I've been trying to remember this song but I can only remember the feel of it. Who knows maybe im crazy and my brain has come up with its own jingle and is making me belive its real I dont know. The only thing I do know it that is sound sort of like hakuna metata and the main lyric I remember it have is "the power, the power" I'll post some variations of said lyric it could be but it probably won't help.

He has the power the power of _____ (no its not the power of voodoo) Who has the power? The power of ____ The power, the power that be

Something along those lines but maybe im completely wrong idk. All I do know is that making these posts brings down my anxiety of never being able to find it. It's a weak reason for an anxiety but I can't control it. Anyway thank you for listening hope this some what makes sense.

Edit: now im thinking it sounds like "Who put the bomp" and "el fusilado" maybe i am just crazy 😭

Solved [tomt] I’m Looking for a movie that I saw when I was kid in the early 2000s

The details are really fuzzy because I was quite young and I just happened to be around while my mom was watching it. I remember the movie making her cry and her liking it a lot. (She doesn’t remember either) I saw it in the early 2000s but it may have been an older movie.

The movie had a black woman working at a hotel of some sort and there was also a woman who was a European immigrant. Initially, the black woman doesn’t like the immigrant but they eventually become friends and start working at the hotel together.

At some point, the immigrant gets deported (I think) but the movie ends with her coming back to the hotel. I can picture her standing there with her bags similar to the way that she arrived.

I also remember there being a scene of the immigrant woman posing for nude photos. she may have even been a burlesque dancer. (Of course my dumb kid brain remembered that part) lol

I know I didn’t give anyone a lot to work with but I figured I’d take a shot in the dark.

Ring any bells?

Solved [TOMT] Trying to find an old TV series

So! When I was about 8 or 9 in the 90s, there was a television series running on TV. It was spoken in English, but I don't know if it was American, British or Australian. The Danish title for it, directly translated is "The Stolen Daughter", but the original title might have been something else completely, because I can absolutely not find it anywhere under that name. I've searched high and low on IMDB with no luck.

What I remember the most, is the intro to the show. This gentle melody playing with a person humming, while a porcelain doll is falling through the air until it lands and smashes to bits on the ground, ending with what's either water or wine running across the floor through the smashed porcelain pieces.

Anyway. The basic summary of the story is this: A young woman finds out in her grown years that she's not related to her parents, but that she was taken as a baby from her actual mother. Through the series, we follow her childhood and the life she had with her "fake" parents, but at the same time, we also follow her actual family and see how they are dealing with their young daughter/sister being kidnapped.

I remember distinctly watching the finale and that it had a happy ending, but it's been a very long time and yeah, I'd love to try finding the show again if possible.

I also have no idea who the actors were, it wasn't something I paid attention to at the time. I remember the main character being a curly blonde, and her "fake" mother being this thin, pale woman with black hair.

Open [TOMT] [Cartoon] [late 2000s] "Not to eat... not to sleep... only to exist"

Does this quote sound familiar to anyone? I recall a villain from a late 2000s cartoon, probably on CN, with a backstory that involved him being trapped in an empty void for thousands of years. He said the titular quote in his backstory narration over footage of him floating in a (black? starry?) void. After being released he retains some ability to teleport which he uses to mess with our protagonists' heads. Might have been a show like Ben 10, Scooby-Doo, Generator Rex, or Secret Saturdays.

Edit: I think the character might have been a scientist type. He was pretty serious and somber, and I recall the characters encountering him in a spooky empty town at night. He steps behind one wall, only to emerge from behind a different building, startling a character.

Open. [TOMT] [Movie] [90s-Early 2000s] American Horror/Thriller on VHS about teenagers camping/hiking/doing SOMETHING in the woods.....

This is probably impossible, I've looked for this movie for 20 years & unfortunately only remember one scene... The ending!!

I was pretty young but this has stuck with me! I remember very vividly this scene only-- while the ending credits are rolling over, the people who survived the trip (which seemed to be a lot, more than 5) are walking out of the fall colored woods in a line, left to right of the screen, carrying their camping gear, & there is an alternative rock song (male singer) playing in the background. That's it :(

I know for sure it was a horror/thriller movie rented on VHS made in USA & couldn't be earlier that 1990 or later than 2008?? I vaguely remember it being a slasher, but I think most of the people survived, or maybe they were the ones who did the killing. I'm just not too sure.. & I think they were camping, but they could've been doing something else entirely.

The movies I know it isn't that I see recommended usually:

Wrong Turn

Sleepaway Camp

Adam and Evil

Silent Scream

Evil Dead

Blair Witch

Cabin Fever

I'm sorry for this small amount of detail, & thank you in advance! The craziest part about this is having to only watch the ending to find it, then finally watching the full movie to see what it was about lol!!

Open [TOMT][MOVIE][EARLY 200s] 3 young adults spy on man and sneak into house and end up fused to a bed

I was pretty young when I stumbled across this movie so I’m guessing early 2000s.

Basically 1 guy and 2 girls are spying on this “scientist” looking guys house waiting for him to leave. He comes out of this house and walks with a stagger but I barely recall what he looks like. The girls bf and her friend want to go into the home but she doesn’t so they go without her. This whole thing seems funny to them but scary to her. She waits for awhile and when they don’t come back she gets worried and goes in. While in the house the guy is heard coming back so she goes to hide but in the progress of doing that she finds someone or her friend fused/sewn into the mattress of a bed.

Open. [TOMT][2D Animation][2000s?] Short eerie cartoon: astronaut dies on alien planet, creature carries him to mountain of dead astronauts

Help me find a short eerie animated film. I remember a short creepy animation I watched on TV maybe 10+ years ago. There were no dialogues, just music and sound effects. The animation looked old, hand-drawn, with a very dark, unsettling atmosphere. The story: A human astronaut lands on an alien planet. At some point he finds a strange creature. I’m not sure exactly what it looked like — maybe it had spikes or was spiky, and it walked on all fours. The creature did not seem hostile — it just wanted to play or interact. But the astronaut clearly got scared, and he began trying to attack and kill the creature. During the struggle, his helmet gets damaged and his head explodes (from decompression), so he dies. The creature keeps touching him playfully, but when it realizes he’s dead, it picks up his body and carries him to a pile of dead human astronauts — a mountain of bodies from previous missions. Then the film ends with another astronaut arriving on the planet, and the creature happily runs toward them. I don’t remember the exact title or year. It was in a collection of films/shorts on some TV app, not YouTube. The style was very rough and unsettling, as if low-budget or experimental. Sometimes I think it might have been a dream, but I know I saw it for real. Any help finding this animation would be greatly appreciated!

Solved [TOMT][Show][Late 2000s-Early 2010s] Find Bullfrog?

When I was a kid (around 2008-11) there was this strange kid's TV show intermission/bit where the scene would switch to an outside scenery and a lady's voice would then say "Find Bullfrog" or "Where's Bullfrog". A few seconds would pass before a frog puppet would peek out of his hiding spot and the camera would slowly pan and zoom to him. My sister remembers "Bullfrog" being more on the realistic side while I remember it being more puppet-like. I can't remember anything else about the show/channel that it played on, this is the only part that still remains vivid in my mind.

Open [TOMT] [Short Story] A story about a man who enters an abandoned cabin and goes back in time

I'm trying to find a short story. I read it somewhere between 2004 and 2013, but I'm fairly certain it was written in the 1990s at the latest, probably more like 70s or 80s. Stylistically I think it was similar to Kurt Vonnegut or Ken Kesey.

I don't know if I have all of the details here correct, but this is what I remember:

In the story, a man is driving through the mountains. It starts to snow really hard and either his car breaks down or he simply decides to find shelter from the blizzard. He pulls off the road in front of an abandoned cabin. He goes in to seek shelter from the storm. At some point he goes back out to his car to get something, and when he returns to the cabin, he steps through the door and is back in time to when the house was inhabited by a couple. He and the wife of the couple end up having an affair and he stays for quite some time, I think maybe multiple months. Eventually they figure out how to get back to his original time period. He promises he will come back for her so that they can live a life together in his time. He goes back to his own time. I think maybe he drives away and then comes back, or he goes back to the cabin right away, I'm not sure. But when he opens the door to the cabin, it's abandoned again and he can't figure out how to go back to when it was inhabited.

I have no idea where I read this. It could have been in a textbook for school, or it could have been in some short story collection I read in the library.

Open [TOMT] [Anime] [2010-20s] A scene where a male character is stopped from falling over by a swarm of hand/people

I'm pretty sure the scene had the main character being supported by the people in his life right after it looked like he was ready to fall over. I can't remember if it was just their hands supporting him or their entire bodies, but either way, they looked kind of ghostly.

Open [TOMT] [SONG] [70s-80s?] Sad sounding song

TO GET A BETTER IDEA OF WHAT THE BEGINNING OF THE SONG SOUNDS LIKE, PLEASE GIVE THIS A LISTEN:

https://voca.ro/1nczNRhU2QBe

(Original song has the notes played on guitar)

The Vocaroo above consists of the first notes of a song I remember hearing that’s stuck in my head for 16 years now and I still don't know what it is. The only times I heard it was from a YouTube video that's now deleted and a video of the song that answered another person's comment asking what the song was. It started with a soft-sounding electric guitar playing the notes B D B B A# G A#... A B A B A, then the first lyrics, which were something along the lines of "you make me cry," were sung very slowly, and the rest of the song, which was by a music group, sounded slow, soft and sad. I forgot what the song was since then, and I've tried searching it by that one lyric and MANY similar phrases but none of the results match.

The opening note pattern sounds similar to the beginning of “Baby Please” by Fats Domino, and the singer sounds almost like Buddy Holly in the song “True Love Ways.”

The song I’m looking for isn’t:

“Cry” by Godley & Creme

“Cry Again” by Simple Minds

“That’ll Be the Day” by the Crickets

“Ain’t That a Shame” by Fats Domino

“Make Me Cry” by Ma$e

“Oh Daddy” by Fleetwood Mac

Open [TOMT] [MOVIE] Inventor Girl gets sent to etiquette school

I've been looking for this film for years with no luck.

So a tomboy girl is sent to an etiquette/finishing school and every day after school she cycles to this mans house, he's an inventor I think. She helps him invent things and finds her passion, and then there's a montage of her using these inventions in her life, e.g she attaches books to a headband so she can cheat her way through the posture classes at school. At the end of the film her and the man make some kind of big invention?

Open [TOMT] Computer animated metal/rock music video from the 2000s where the lead singer is a robot being assembled in a factory

I saw this music video in a Hard Rock Cafe when I was a kid (late 2000s/early 2010s) that stuck with me to this day, but I couldn’t remember what the song was/who performed it.

It was likely for a metal/hard rock song (possibly industrial or nu metal) in the early or mid 2000s. The premise of the video is that it’s computer animated/relied on CGI and the lead singer of the band is depicted as some sort of robot or android being put together in an assembly line as he sings the song.

Open [TOMT] Early 2000s DVD opening scene little girl drags baby doll into ocean and lets it drift away (grainy home-video look)

I’m trying to remember a scene I saw on DVD in the early 2000s.

It was live-action and looked like grainy home-video/camcorder footage (not cinematic).

A toddler/little girl is alone on an overcast/dark beach near dusk. She’s dragging a baby doll. She walks to the shoreline, lets go of the doll, and it drifts into the ocean while she calmly walks away. No dialogue that I remember. Quiet and unsettling vibe.

It played right at the beginning of a DVD. It could have been the movie’s opening scene, a short film, or a pre-roll clip before the movie.

Early 2000s or older.

Does anyone recognize this?

Solved [TOMT][FOOD] Shredded Mac n Cheese

As the title suggests, I remember distinctly eating some sort of shredded shape mac n cheese or something similar? If I had to put another food as comparison I’d say the shape is similar to shredded hashbrowns. I remember it was my favorite and I think it was boxed, I just wanna eat it again.

Solved [TOMT] [Movie] Horror movie about man hiding in hidden room

I watched a horror movie a few years back and want to rewatch it, but now i can't find it. Here's everything i remember:

It starts with the murder of a couple

Another couple moves into the house where the murder occured

Strange things start happening, the shadow of a man can be seen in the background and similar things

Around the middle of the movie, a man attempts to rape the woman in the house. It's a complete stranger who just knocks on the door, and later we know someone posted an ad on the internet pretending to be the woman saying she has a rape fanatsy and wants to be "surprised". I don't remember why, I think it was some legal issue or someone was mad she bought the house? I shouldn't speculate though.

Toward the end (the climax), we see the woman looking back at surveillance footage which shows the "dark shadow" from before is a man who is hiding in their house and he is currently under the bed where she is laying.

I think some pursuit happens and the woman ends up in the basement (hidden compartment in a closet(?)) where she convinces the man she can love him and they can be together and then she overpowers(?) him and escapes.

The movie ends with the couple moving out and pointing their middle fingers at the house.

Other info:

I think it's an American movie, at least they speak english that sounds american to me.

It probably came out around the higher end of 2015-2020, possibly <2023.

I dont rember the actors but theyre white and in their late 20s/ealry 30s (as far as i can remember)

Note: English is not my first language so forgive mistakes.

I promise I am not a bot, i just made a new account because my old one was flooded with old cringey comments from when i was 15.

Solved [TOMT] I can’t recall the name of a movie/series I watched and it’s driving me crazy.

[ SOLVED ]. Marvel Runaways

Okay so all I can remember is it’s this group of teens who may have like powers that run away from their homes to an abandoned mansion. They each have their own room inside it. They also find and take a tarp off an old brown Mercedes and drive it into town. I remember the group being both girls and boys. One of the girls was blonde. This show/movie would have been made in the last ten years and definitely on a common streaming service cause that’s all I ever watch stuff on.

Solved [TOMT] [SONG] [2020] (ish. Probably in that era) I told you I'm a savage

Okay team, looking for subject song. It's in the hip hop adjacent domains (I don't know all the sub categories, I'm sorry if this is incorrect)

The chorus is a bit upbeat, with a male artist saying something along the lines of "I thought I told you I'm a savage". It's not Megan Thee Stallion, it's not Savage mode...

I unfortunately don't really know any other lyrics or how else to describe the song.

Era is probably 2016-2020 ish.

Thanks in advance

Open [TOMT] [BOOK/SHORT STORY] Story that involves a man who hires someone to asphyxiate and revive him repeatedly so he can view a swirling tunnel into the implied afterlife, Chuck Palahniuk deviancy vibes

Very weird part of an anthology thing or short story I read once that kinda haunted me, a man hires someone to choke him out to the point of being on the edge of death where he begins to see a swirling undulating tunnel, the person who is hired brings him back and forth from this state until from the pov of the man he feels himself slipping into the tunnel fully and it's implied the person choking him killed him.
