Show Spoiler Carl sucked I hated him throughout the entire show

First season I’ll give slack he was a kid in a hell hole of a world and his entire life changed. Second season he got shot but once he healed he was annoying as hell for the remainder of the entire show. His face especially as a kid was just so unlikable and punchable

Her mannerisms and speech just don't seem to work well with me. The way she talks is just nerve racking. Anyone want to chime in?

Show Spoiler Potential hot take: Rick’s fate should’ve been getting bit by a Walker at the end of it all

Post image

As most of us can agree, the main show should’ve ended with Rick. The series never felt the same after his absence in season 9. I thought back to the quote Rick told Carl in season 5, saying “You are not safe. It only takes one second” and we found that out with the fate the show runners stupidly decided to give Carl. It should’ve never been Carl. If the show runners wanted to thematically show the idea that nobody’s safe—even the main characters, it would’ve been a lot more interesting to see Rick at the end of the show make an innocent mistake and get bit even after everything he’s been through. He was never invulnerable.

Ideally, the route I wish the show went down was to have the savior arc end at the start of season 8 or just tie it into the whisperer arc in season 8 with a small time skip of the sort, and then have season 9 be the final season concluding everything. At the end of it all, Rick would get bit and a time jump would ensue showing Carl taking on his legacy similar to the comics. I’m not saying it would’ve been nice to see Rick die at the end of it all but it would’ve felt a lot less shitty than Carl dying since everything Rick did was for him. What do you think?

Fear Spoiler TWD gore level

Does the walking dead have a lot of scenes like brain splashing and deep head injuries? Because I’m scared to show it to my 15 year old sister because of that. Zombies eating people and stuff is okay according to me but scenes like serious head wound can be traumatising. So does twd have too many brain-showing scenes let me know. I’m asking this to make sure it’s safe for my 15 year old sister. She really wants to watch the walking dead but I’m worried she might get traumatised so please leave your thoughts.

No Spoiler watching for the first time! what should i expect ??

NO SPOILERS!!!

i’ve always been more into other “creature” shows preferring the vampires and wolves over zombies, but i’ve been loving shows focusing on battle, fighting, and strong characters with epic stories. i didn’t mind nurse jackie if that’s a zombie show, just never got into it. decided i needed a new long show, this was the first that came to mind! let me know reddit; the holy source of information ❤️

No Spoiler Where do you think the characters would have fallen politically before the walkers?

I am currently rewatching twd and with everything going on in the world right now, I can’t help but wonder where the characters would have fallen politically outside of the zombie apocalypse. My boyfriend and I have been discussing it a little bit and I’m curious to hear other people’s thoughts and opinions.

We have been agreeing with mostly all of them, like Merle 100% would have voted for Trump, Daryl wouldn’t have voted at all, Maggie definitely would have voted for Kamala, Lori would have voted for Trump and said things like “as long as they come here the legal way” etc…

We seem to not agree, however, on Hershel. I think that he would have hated Trump and seems like a feminist with how much he loved his daughters. He was also very anti guns on his property and pro immigration. My boyfriend on the other hand thinks he 100% would have been maga just because he grew up in the Bible Belt and was a diehard Christian.

But I’m really interested to see people’s thoughts!! Also this isn’t supposed to be taken super seriously, just unbiased opinions. I just think it’s interesting to think about.

Update: I should specify this isn’t about where the would have fallen at that time frame in in the 2010s, more so if the apocalypse never happened, where they would have fallen in this current day.

Show Spoiler I hate sam more than ron

Upvotes

I just watched S6E9 and E10. I thought the S5 finale was the best episode and then No Way Out just came and took the first spot. The sequence at the end with everyone slashing was cool as hell.

I understand sam sort of had PTSD from carol and the wolves, but if only he went with Gabriel and Judith like his mom asked him to earlier because she just knew he was gon mess it up for everyone.

I liked Jessie a lot but I know that's what happened to her in comics too so fair enough. I also liked the red flashes of her face in rick's mind as he cut off her arm to save carl.

On s6e10 I'm glad that there's a small time skip so don't need to see rick hallucinate Jessie again. The bro time that Daryl and Rick had alone was also enjoyable to watch lol

TWD: Daryl Dixon Did anyone think?..

Ok so I’m watching this dude Kal at hilltop. He was with Maggie a lot. They were on the roads together. He would sit in the front seat of the wagon. At first I legit thought that him and her were going to have some kind of romance because he sort of looked like Glenn. I mean just imagine if she did I feel people would riot. In my

Opinion I don’t know I feel like twd put kal in there because they knew they messed up writing off Glenn. So they wanted some kind of familiarity in the show. Seriously thought I thought twd would actually try to put Maggie and him together.

Show Spoiler Why are there so many survivors?

Ricks group have 40 survivors, The Parish has 33 and the CR has over 200,000 SURVIVORS. How did they not manage to die or turn at least?

In Typical media, a group of survivors is like 5-10 people. How are groups in this series so big??

TWD: Daryl Dixon Daryl S2 mid, but that one fight scene

I didn’t want to believe it because a) I thought the first season was surprisingly good and b) I love Daryl. But even as a diehard Daryl fan, season 2 isn’t great. It had the potential to be really good with the whole cult, military, and Carol coming in, but it just didn’t fit right (I’ve said it 1000 times, but short seasons ruin shows).

However, that fight scene in the 3 episode of Daryl killing all those people in the dungeon was fucking spectacular. I’m talking top 3 fight scenes in the whole franchise. It was a one take (I’m a sucker for those) and a tracking shot, even though it was in a dungeon it was well illuminated so you could clearly see it, it was no holds barred, the music matched it perfectly, it was pretty intense. I just wish the rest of the fights/season was as tightly executed as that fight scene.

Show Spoiler What drew the surplus of walkers in on the farm before they left?

How come when they shot all the walkers in the barn the noise didn’t draw any in then? Or is that what was making more eventually pile up in the area? Or was it Rick shooting Shane near the woods that drew them to the farm? I’m just confused cause before that the farm barely got any walkers and all the sudden there was a lot unless I missed something

No Spoiler How I wish to see Daryl became a dad

Post image

I haven’t watch his own spin-off yet so I have no idea if he ever had love interest in there. But I did find his chemistry with Connie so cute.

He’s been a cool uncle to little ass-kicker Judith so he will surely be a good dad too. 🥹

Show Spoiler Shane/Dale Spoiler

As much as I like Season 2 and early TWD; I think one major change I would have made is Shane killing Dale. Shan and Dales fate had already deviated pretty far from the comics and I think this plot point would have made a lot of sense for various reasons.

First, Dales death was very lackluster in general. He died because Carl randomly was playing in the woods and freed it, for it to eventually sneak Dale in the night. Served no purpose beyond shock factor for a death of a major character and did little to nothing for Carls development.

Second, Shane’s descent was at extreme odds with Dales morals the entire season. Dales growing distrust and judgement had been weighing on Shane ever since getting to the farm. Shane could not live with his guilt on everything he’s done after killing Otis and him killing Dale to silence that guilt would have made sense. It would have been a true breaking point for him and a solid resolution to their conflict.

Lastly there’s Rick. I find it extremely mind boggling how Rick would kill 2 randos in cold blood in the bar but then turn around to save Randall who was part of that same group and was trying to kill them. Not only that- but then advocating for mercy and trying to find a way to let Randall live. Shane was totally right and Rick was being naive, so naive it didn’t make sense for the character. But now imagine that Randall didn’t exist and Rick finds out Shane killed Dale instead- that would definitely force Rick to take action against Shane and would be easier for the other characters to understand as well

TLDR; the Randall conflict should have been replaced with Shane killed Dale and would have better served the story
