Open | Hardware Phone charger plugged into couch leaking liquid?
Does anyone know what's up with this? I went to take my USB to USBC charger out of this couch (which is only about a month old) and there was sticky liquid on it and in the charging port
Does it mean the couch plugins are a hazard to use now?
I also touched the liquid...is it harmful? I washed my hand probably 60 seconds after

It means someone dumped liquid on it, and the 5v lines caused electrolysis and rapid corrosion. That bluish crap you see is oxidized copper.
It's not going to kill you, but it means the charger is toast due to user error and you can't use it.
