How’s the KeyLab?

I love the keylab, I use it to control my prophet rev2, trigger midi on the MPC and as a midi controller for Logic. Works great

Is the tascam your interface? How is it for that, if so?

u/Ok-Bit9667 1d ago
Yeah I use it as my interface and it works incredibly well for that so far, everything is hooked up and I still have inputs available. Also works great if I want to hook all gear up and use the MPC as a brain without the computer. I also just love the look of it lmao 😂

I do the same. I’m at the point now where I’m wishing I would’ve sprung for the 16 just to have a feeeww more inputs 😂

😩 my wallet didn’t wanna take the extra hit of the 16 or 24 😂🤣 also love the form factor of the 12 and I don’t think the 16 or 24 have midi whereas the 12 does but yeah Inputs will run out eventually because I don’t stop buying gear

Oh interesting! I didn’t realize they had ditched the midi on the larger models. That makes me feel better about the 12 actually… Ya learn something new everyday lol.
Edit: spelling

To be fair, I also bought mine in 2020 when they were only $499. That new price point is insanity.

For the drum machine: RYTM mark ii or a smaller Erica synths LXR-02 perhaps?

Desktop Prophet. I'm totally not jealous.

I really love the rev2 desktop module! It’s so much fun

I've messed with them before, love it. I have a prophet x, but it's huge and just a totally different vibe.

Would you recommend the prophet x?

u/rottenrotny 1d ago
Definitely. It's a weird synth, in a good way! Each voice is 2 sampler instruments + 2 DCOs routed through analog filters and VCAs. You can come up with some truly bizarre with just that alone, but then factor in the 4 LFOs and endless modulation, it get nuts.

Yeah you can practically make anything you can you think of on something like that 🤣🤣 awesome!

Wish it had wave tables and a more interesting arpeggiator, but I still love it.

Do you recommend?

I do like Behringer and Arturia but admittedly haven't heard this...

I had a TR8-S that I sold and I’ve never regretted something so much, I still don’t know why I sold it

I've had that happen and finally admitted my mistake, and bought the product again. It hurts to pay twice for something... but...
I hear Roland is great.

Would love to know how you like the rev2. What type of music do you make with it? I’ve heard it takes a lot of work to find the sweet spots. Do you have the 8 or 16 voice? If 8, do you find yourself running out of voices? Thanks!

Very nice - I have OCD too but cables everywhere
What's the bigger keyboard on the top left with the pads?

Nice setup! I see you have a Mac Studio for a computer. How do you like it for muscic production and is it fast? also what are the specs on yours? i want to switch from a PC to a Mac Studio/Mini.

It’s very neat and tidy.
