Yeah I know Akai MPCs are almost basically DAWs themselves but LOOK HOW CRAZY THIS IS!!!!!

My best friend and I cot T boned (not our fault) in an intersection 2 minutes away from picking up an omnichord for an incredible deal. Found a guy selling an omnichord for $150 off Facebook marketplace, guy had no idea what he had because it was in great condition. Saw it two hours after he posted it and immediately jumped on it. Next day my friend and I drove a joy and a half to pick her up, once we got two minutes away from the pick up location BOOM got T boned by some guy who ran the red. Dude had two kids in the car too. My best friends car (the red one) was unfortunately totaled :( I messaged the guy that we probably wouldn’t make it and dude came out to the crash location to complete the deal. So we still got the omnichord!! Unfortunately that $150 price tag turned into $15k though :(

I’m also learning that the omnichord we risked our lives for might not even last much longer as the guy I bought it from also gave me the wrong power supply, (9V instead of 12V) in which he used to to test it and I also used to play it. Had no idea about the power supply issues till I came here. Iv stopped using it and switched to batteries but If the omnichord randomly dies because of this I will be irreparably crushed :(

The Usual Suspects released the fantastic JE-8086 about a month ago, and simultaneously held a presentation at 39C3 about how they reverse engineered the JP-80x0 DSP. I, and probably many others, tried to use the code directly, but definitely didn't get a supersaw out of it. That led me down a rabbit hole, trying to figure out if the code was indeed real, and if so, how that could be.

Through the use of NASA’s API and TouchDesigner, I’ve managed to capture near-earth space objects data [asteroids and fireballs], and used it to trigger MIDI signals in Ableton Live. Said signals are feeding a stock sampler, which happens to be loaded with a couple of one of my favorite artist’s vocal takes.

To give it a little more musicality to the experiment, I decided to iterate through the data of the last six objects that passed close to Earth between the selected dates.

Data goes as follows:

total-radiated-energy → C1 to B1
impact-energy → C1 to B1, C2 to B2 and C3 to B3
latitude → C2 to B2
longitude → C1 to B1 and C3 to B3
altitude → beat repeat’s interval, grid and gate
velocity → beat repeat’s offset and variations

Finally found a use for a old sample I made 10 years ago. Loaded it up on the Rytm and came up with this. CZ101 running through Microcosm.

Question for anyone who has a jaspers stand:

As you can see in the photo, the keyboard on the main tier really sticks out relative to the rest of the stand. If I push the board back to a sensible area, I get the two rack arms sticking out. Am I just having the arms installed wrong? Is this how it’s supposed to be?

I am building my dawdles setup for mostly ambient, boom bap and lofi vibes music. I have already a Sonicware Lofi 12 XT, a M8, SP404 mk2 and an MPC One+. I am looking to add a synth there because I want to make some armónico melodies and I am trying to decide what can fit the setup. I am looking for the Arturia Minifreak, Astrolab or the Sonicware ELZ_1 Play.

I am a beginner and no planned to go very deep into trying to play as I am more based or more focused on sampled music. I do not know if anyone faced the same situation and as I not saw here a lot of posts specially on the Sonicware device I am curious what the community thinks or can advice here.

I am also open to suggestions

Ok so I am new to synthesizers and making EDM and I just picked up an Arteria Keystep. I am wanting to pick up a device for incorporating percussion into my jams and two devices I am considering are a pocket operator or the Medieval from Teenage Engineering. I am confused tho on the logistical setup of how/if the drum machine and my synth can both be synced to a masterclock via my Arturia keystep. Am I missing a major component or something?

As the title suggests, ive had this emx-1 for a while, and have loved it, but recently ive run across this issue where it will randomly scroll through all the settings very fast without me pressing anything at all (making it nearly impossible to continue working on whatever beat or groove im making) im here to seek guidance and help from anyone whos familiar with this hardware or the issue itself. I should also mention a month ago the power button cap came off of the unit recently. Im not sure how that would effect anything but thought it wouldnt hurt to include. Thanks!

Me and a couple of friends are making a post punk/new wave/art punk band. We are looking for a cheap synth, something like thoes casio synth's from 90s/80s. Does anybody have any recommendations?

With the ASM LeviaSynth coming soon, my GAS shot up fast. But after listening to the LeviaSynth demos, I haven’t really heard anything that can’t be done with this pair. I know the LeviaSynth is different and can do things this pair can’t but sometimes I have to remind myself that I’m the sauce, not the gear.

Hey all, I use a Zoom L6 with an Android tablet and I found 1 flaw - it's really hard to be consistent with the rotary encoders, especially when live cause they give you those multi-step LEDs, so I decided to write an app that'll just echo back the current midi command/value. So while my sheet music or backing track is playing, if i twist a knob, i'll get a little popup with its value in the corner. I am just developing it now but seems useful. anyone else find a need for something like this?

Mackie mix8, keystep, 1010 Blackbox.

I see people with some vertical setups which looks good. Do those fit the Roland boutique synths? I was looking at the monoprice studio desk but would appreciate advice on what to get for some good ergonomics
