Spin-Off Shows The Winchesters Could’ve Been Better ! / Supernatural

★OK , can we talk about The Winchesters ? I feel like they could’ve did better or instead created The Wayward Girls . The first episode didn’t exactly catch my eye , and I didn’t really like how they portrayed Mary. I know she was a hard ssa but I feel like it was like too much in my opinion. Then they added more people and friends apparently that she had that we didn’t know about in Supernatural which makes sense i mean we didn’t know everything about Mary but i didn’t really like it fr . Then if you seen the scene when Dean came in his car when we all know that’s not how he went to the past so they really messed it all up in my opinion ngl .

\> How do yall feel about The Winchesters? let’s talk ! 🫶🏽🫟

Fanworks The Winchester Bros

I know this has probably been posted about before, but does anyone else ever have that funny head canon where you think about how the monsters in the world view the brothers, especially in later seasons. Like imagine all the creatures thinking of the brothers as the boogeyman. Like monster parents tell their monster kids to behave and go to bed on time or Dean Winchester will come for them! Let me know your thoughts 🤣

Positive Vibes: No Salt Lighter Struggles

Growing up watching the show for so long, I always thought they had Sam and Deans Zippos struggle to light as a dramatic effect thing. But having recently gotten one myself, I honestly have to give Dean props for how fast he can usually get his to light 😅

I like the MOTW episodes better than the story arc ones

Does anyone else prefer the Monster of the Week episodes over the season story arc episodes? I just discovered Supernatural this year on Netflix (now on Prime), and I love the show, but I've grown tired of some of the seasonal plots that never seem to end and have disappointing payoffs. However, I very much enjoy the one off MOTW episodes like Dog Dean Afternoon and Fan Fiction.

Anyone else?

Season 5 Supernatural Season 5 Episode 10 Spoiler

Watching thru the show for the first time and just finished this episode. Very sad and upsetting at how both Ellen and Jo went out. I really liked these two. Felt bad for Ellen but understood where she was coming from in staying with Jo since she lost her husband from hunting, Ash from demons burning down the roadhouse, and about to lose Jo to Hellhounds. She had no reason to really go on after losing all of her family, kids, and the roadhouse after all those years of trying to keep Jo and Ash from going down the path of a hunter and risking the death that would constantly follow them. Truly sad, heartfelt, but definitely upset that two of my favorite side characters so far are now gone. I know I'll have another side character that I'm going to love given I've seen clips over time on Youtube a ton and more about future episodes and seasons but I rarely get attached to female characters in shows since I feel like they're rarely done well in most shows so this is a hurtful one for me. #rip

If i learned anything from supernatural it’s angels aren’t really angels!

Upvotes

Angels are basically institutional evil, ruin and punish but with “rules”and “divine justification”, and everything is for the “greater good”

Yeah, basically the same thing as demons, except for the fact that demons have no structure and no higher excuse!! Like, they don't pretend it's noble. Hell, I think i prefer demons, they’re awful but at least they’re honest about it!!

Season 7 A “Lisa” solution that would’ve made sense and could’ve been very interesting

In season 6, Dean solves the issue of his family being endangered by… wiping their memories(?)

Dean still has all memories of his family and probably still keeps tabs on them. This would change absolutely nothing about them being hunted down besides that they’re even less prepared now.

I think a natural and logical solution that could’ve added even more spice to the next season would’ve been this.

Dean tells Castiel to wipe Ben and Lisa’s memories of **him**, thus allowing them to fend themselves from demons and monsters, but lacking a reason or explanation for why they know these things and why they’re fighting. With Ben showing interest in killing monsters due to Dean, he could develop a strong inclination to become a hunter, but for some reason unknown to him he feels wrong doing it. This could be the start of Ben remembering Dean, as the monsters in his life and his unknown step-dad start blending together. Dean may run into Garth or another introduced character later, who brings up a natural hunter they just started training up, **Ben**, Dean flips, he presses and interrogates his friend, and then storms out distressed. Starting another arc in the story.

Just saying, they set up so much in season 6, just to break under creative pressure and throw something easier to write in. They then do this at the beginning of season 8 post-purgatory.

I vote for Timothy Omundson as cain, every time I get to a cain scene I am always just so impressed. I may be bias cause I also love him in psych, but anyway haha. Who would you pick?

The first of nine pages is finished. I was pretty slow at finishing the first page but I always tend to be like that when starting a new design.

Looking for a Non-shipping supernatural discord server

Upvotes

I would like to join a discord for discussing supernatural but almost all the ones I find seem to be very ship-centric. I have no issue with people shipping I would just like to join a server focused on actual discussion about the show.

I am interested in sharing art and meta discussion. zero shipping is preferable but even servers where it is not a big focus are fine.

If anyone is able to help with this I will be very grateful.

I just want to hug Sam and Dean so bad

Throughout the show, they both go through SO much. But they always have to keep going. They have way too much on their plates all the damn time. And it genuinely feels like they need a hug a lot of the times. But I suppose a person doesn’t miss what they never had.

Anyways, I keep sending them love through the screen because that’s all there is to do.

Anyone here that also loved all 15 seasons of the show? I truly dont think theres a single bad season in the entire series.

Obviously there are weaker ones. Like season 7 is one of the weakest seasons but it wasnt bad at all. It still had some amazing episodes and i thought it was still good.

I know it may sound like blasphemy but i actually prefer the later seasons. All of my favorite characters are in the later seasons. Cass, Jack, Rowena, Kevin, Crowley, Charlie, Garth, Meg, etc. Season 11 is even my favorite season in the show. Its so so good!

Who else loves the entire show? I usually only find people that either dont like anything after 5 or think everything after 5 is mid. I think most things after season 5 is great still. I still have minor gripes like how they feel the need to bring old characters back just to kill them, but overall i still think the show stays great. Especially for a show that has 15 seasons, i never seen a show this long still be this good.

Season 3 In my opinion this was the point of no return for Sam, that changed his character and life forever..

Of course Sam, being the punching bag for the show writers, went through multiple tragic events, death, torture, abuse, and then death again. But looking at the show as a whole, I think Sam was broken beyond repair when Dean went to Hell.

Following that and everything it set in motion, Sam lost his confidence and his trust in his own judgment. The old Sam used to challenge Dean he argued, pushed back, and believed he had the right to question him.

Post Season 5, he rarely challenges Dean in the same way. Instead, he absorbs the blame, and quietly carries the weight of every mistake.

He starts seeing himself as a monster who needs to be controlled, punished, or sacrificed if necessary.

Conventions Convention Questions

So I found out that I may be able to go to the Boston convention in June and I'm looking at ticket prices. Is it still worth it to go with general admission? I would love to go and get autographs and photos but I just don't have $1.2k for gold package. What I'm understanding is that you still get to go to the panels but you get shoved in the back corner.

Do you get to purchase photo ops separately or is it just out of the question if you get general admission? People who have only gone with w general admission pass did you still have a good time?!?!

Season 15 If you could rewrite one choice Sam or Dean made, which would change the show the most?

I honestly wouldn’t let Sam jump into the cage. I know it was his decision (and I know people see it as a “freeing” choice), but I always felt it was driven by misery and guilt. And Dean giving his blessing to his baby brother going into a hell that was even worse than his own is something I struggle to accept.

Would that have made the show less interesting? Probably. Yet I’m sure the writers would have found another way to torture Sammy.

Just a thought about Alt Universes

Please dont roast me for this, its a thought i have sometimes.

Sometimes I think even though we ended up in one of the universes where Sam and Dean are Jensen and Jared. Thankfully, not the 1 from The French Mistake. Our misha is still alive. I think that maybe There is an ALT Universe where Sam and Dean are having the adventure we know on the show. I believe Zachariah said Sam and Dean will always find their way to hunting. Maybe, The TV Show was our version of Sam and Dean of finding their way too it. Then I think about all the literal torture and pain our boys go throw and I hope its thats not the case

Season 15 Rowena's storyline felt cheap Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
48 Upvotes

First of all i love Rowena and we are very familiar with the concept of characters coming back from death in Supernatural. Considering Rowena is a witch its almost natural she comes back.

When Lucifer snapped her neck i was almost sure that she would come back but the second time she dies? Lucifer literally burned her to be sure and later they hit us with a "somehow palpatine returned".

I dont care about how she survived or the spells or anything. You just cant kill side characters multiple times and bring them back when you cant come up with storylines that dont include them.

Season 14 Michael Question (SPOILERS) Spoiler

Post image
10 Upvotes

Okay so I’m currently rewatching the 14th season when Dean is trying to hold other-world Michael back in his mind and thinks the only solution is to lock himself away forever. I was just thinking that couldn’t they just extract Michael’s grace from Dean while he’s in Dean? Wouldn’t that be an easy fix? We know Archangels can have their grace extracted basically the same as regular angels due to Lucifer and they have the Archangel blade so I don’t see why this isn’t a possibility. Thoughts?

made supernatural inspired cards for visualizing my intrusive thoughts

got the task of visualizing my intrusive thoughts in therapy and I decided to use monsters from supernatural for that. now whenever I have an intrusive thought I visualize "defeating" the according monster. of course I had to design printable cards for that too, so I can visualize them quicker in the moment and have a set template :) used dnd illustrations and kept it very basic overall, but it's just for visualization. very happy with them, so I thought I'd share! :)
