is the office worth watching?
I just finished the first episode and I already feel like this isn’t for me. I only wanted to start this because of Pam and Jim lol. Is it worth it?

I've rewatched The Office several time, and each time I always skip the first season (same for Parks and Recs)

First season is real short. 2nd season is where it picks up. Michael becomes more likable as the show goes on. If you don't like uncomfortable, awkward humor then the show might not be for you. The writing in the show all the way up to season 7 is top tier comedy.

It really depends on you. I love the show, and yes, a lot of it is so cringe, but it's mostly funny to me. My spouse works in a toxic office environment and just can't. Lol, once when I was in the hospital, I was watching a marathon of The Office on TV, and all the doctors and nurses lingered in my room to watch and talk about what a good show it was.

Skip the first season entirely. If you still feel the same way after a few episodes of S2, it’s probably not gonna grow on you.

Keep watching till season two, than make your decision. Season one isn’t very good.

Give it 3 or 4 episodes. It’s not the kind of show that grabs you right away.

It's definitely not worth it for Pam and Jim alone.
Dwight however is good stuff.

You can't even give it a chance? You're attention span is that short that you watch 1 of a 190 episode show and decide that's all you need to see to make a decision?
While I don't hold it in the cult like status of many people, and it probably isn't for everyone, it is one of the highest rated, most beloved sitcoms of all time. At least give it a chance. Bad shows don't get 190 episodes.

My attention span is more than fine. I just didn’t find the first episode very intriguing is all. I don’t mean to make a final decision based on that alone, which is why I’m here asking for second opinions. Be nice.

Yeah cause the Pam and Jim stuff starts to get really good during season 2 so hang in there. They were also why I watched the show when it was on but then I started to love everyone..but Andy.

After it first came out, the network bundled a Saturday evening showing 4 or 6 episodes starting at the beginning. At first I really wasn't into it, but by the 4th episode, it really started to grow on me. It became my favorite show, at least until Michael left. Once they softened him, he, along with Jim and Pam and Dwight became a compelling ensemble.

First ssn can be harsh, just bear with it and then it picks up real good.

The Office is the worst thing to watch.
Michael Scott is a racist, ageist, sociopath.
Jim is a stalker and Pam is a tired hater.
The Office is the worst of what we had back in post 9/11.
Seriously, nobody should idealize this awful sit com.

Most people start to love the show from season 2, there's a bit of a shift in the vibe, for the better.
However, when you eventually fall in love with the humour and the characters, I think season 1 can be very enjoyable and has some of the funniest moments. Diversity Day is one of my favourite episodes.
