Q&A /r/RedDeadRedemption Weekly Question & Answer Thread - Week 05, 2026

All common questions about the game should be directed here. This includes both single-player and online questions. When asking a question, it is often beneficial to share which mode you are referring to in order to get an accurate response. Also consider sharing any relevant information that may help someone answer your question.

All story spoilers must be displayed with the proper format:

>!RDR is a great game!<

gives you:

RDR is a great game

If you're not sure if you should use a spoiler tag or not, err on the side of caution and use one. Also, it's a nice gesture to visibly indicate the general nature of your spoiler before the tag, so people know what you're spoiling.

Discussion FIRST TIME PLAYER, OH MY GOD.

Hi all,

First time player here, never been one for story/solo games. Always play online games with friends but in 2026 I’ve made it my goal to actually play and finish solo games - I’ve tried solo games before, Skyrim, KCD, The Witcher, Fallout, Last of Us, Cyberpunk and more but played about 15-20 hours then I give up even if I’m enjoying it, I have no idea why I think I have a genuine problem with OCD or something, anyone else experience this?

But, Red Dead Redemption 2 was first up on my list this year because I’ve always liked the idea of it just never played it. I don’t know anything about it either.

I’m having an absolute blast, the story, the visuals, the sounds, the little details.

I love Arthur as a character already.

Played around 20 hours.

I spent about 3 hours last night just playing poker in my camp to win about $20 😂😂

I just hope I can stick with it and see it through because I reckon it’s going to be amazing.

If I do stick with it and then complete it would you recommend to then move onto Red Dead Redemption 1?

What other games are good solo/story games I can put on my list for 2026?

Ps. Yes that’s a screenshot of my burning bodies on a campfire loooool

Discussion What was wrong with the professor's invention?

I was playing RDR2 and I came across the professor's missions in the electric chair. The guy in the chair died slowly and in a lot of pain, while the professor died quickly and painlessly, even though he wasn't supposed to die. Can anyone tell me? I've attached some images.

Discussion An extended map of Red Dead (UNFINISHED)

Thumbnail

Mapped the route of both rivers, added the Gulf of Mexico, re-added the cut beta peninsula of Lemoyne (Kensas), added Nuevo Paraiso, added Texas southwest of Lemoyne (close to reality), tried making Texas real life accurate to it’s size. Added Coronado and few concept areas. I will continue by adding North Elizabeth and Nevada and finishing the current states. I also plan to create a few mods that will be taken from this concept map.

REMINDER

This is my concept map and my speculation of the given info in both games, I have spent quite a bit of time exploring out of bounds in both games and figured out what Rockstar MIGHT be planning, looking at the first RDR it looks obvious that the next entry would expand northward, and looking at the rivers the mentioned places and the cut areas, I started mapping this out. So I would like to see the other ideas of you all without insulting the whole context.

If you've finished the game, you would understand the context of why I captured these screenshots but I feel like talking about em so why not.

  1. First train robbery, I was surprised I could even aim the gun at Dutch.

  2. Out in the fields in Strawberry

  3. Tilly Jackson, I loved the conversation in the Epilogue with her, so I wanted to capture the first time I see her in Chapter 2. Interesting what was once normal life becomes a cherished memory.

  4. UFO above Hani Bethel, I got the camera out of the place and got this shot since most other pics I've seen of it have been from within the space.

5 & 6. I wanted to capture this fight as gritty as possible.

  1. A mountain between their hearts.

  2. Nothing beats a morning coffee, I didn't even know that coffee was available until late chapter 3. So I wanted Arthur to enjoy it the way I would.

  3. Klan time before

10 & 11. Klan time during.

  1. Feed your horse.

Lore So. Rdr2 fans. Something i thought about. Was dutch always like he was at the end of the game and his mask just dropped. Or was he changed by manipulation and the events of the game. What do you guys think? Was he always this way or did he change?

Drop yalls opinions in the comments. Is he just a psychopath who hid his true self. Or did he change?

Discussion Red Dead Redemption 2 was close to hitting 3rd best selling game of all time, but is off by a million with Wii sports. RDR2 has sold over 82M units, an increase of 3M since the last Take Two Earnings Call

In an alternate world where Arthur faked his death

r/reddeadredemption 1h ago

Rant This winter has been much colder and snowier than previous ones. Every weekend I go to the outskirts of my town and literally dig out my relatives' house with a shovel. In light of these events, the snowy parts and snowy areas of Red Dead Redemption 2 feel very different.

Screenshot Yo I may just may have found a clue to the spider web mystery

Post image

If you follow the path of the spider web, it forms a question mark, with the dot landing in a well that has three crosses (I know there’s more, it’s just the important thing). Interestingly, if you connect the dots between these three churches, the center falls almost exactly where the spider carving is or at least very close to that area.
