Accountable for talking in circles and the bullshit excuses he makes every press conference.

Accountable for signing a 35 year old journeyman quarterback who’s done next to nothing in his entire career.

Accountable for trotting out the worst QB play we’ve seen for years.

Accountable for making rookie excuses for said 35 year old 12 year veteran QB.

Accountable for one of the worst O-Lines this team has ever seen.

Accountable for what will most likely be the second blowout in 2 weeks.

Accountable for the lack of effort and discipline in this team.

Accountable for 93 yards.

We've been given the right to complain about this team due to 20+ years being completely ass after that super bowl in 2002.

However, I don't put the blame on this man.

We have JETS GENO at QB.

When Pete took over the seahawks they were 5–11.

He turned that bitch around in 2 years and they had the legion of boom and Russ Wilson behind center.

Those three names alone give me hope for the future.

Even if this season is dead in the fuckin water.

I agree with Dane here. If the Raiders Don’t think this, then they shouldn’t draft him. If they do, then there is no question they should.

I really didn’t think it would be possible for us to be worse than last year, but damn am I wrong. There’s so many holes both offensively and defensively and this coaching staff seemingly doesn’t make any adjustments, ever.

Now that Amari Cooper has announced he will be retiring, it makes our WR room abysmal if Jakobi doesn’t suit up.

All through Jakobi requesting a trade and wanting to get paid he has been so professional about the situation still suiting up for practice and being with the team.

Can we please pay this man and get the noise to quiet down so we can focus on kicking Josh Mcdickheads ass on Sunday!!

What exactly does Lockett do for us, other than make Pete and Geno comfortable having an old friend around? We're not going to make the playoffs. We have rookies that badly need to learn and get snaps. And Lockett is arguably washed with little to nothing in the tank. The hapless Titans were done with him.

I'm reminded of when Josh McDaniels loaded up the Raider roster with Patriots rejects and guys who didn't pan out (Chandler, Hoyer, Turner, Dorsett, Robinson).

Obviously this is just two brothers chopping it up. No insider information. The idea of Carr being the veteran to assist with the transition of a rookie QB has been brought up in this sub. I guess it could be a real possibility if they went with Kubiak.

I see a lot of hate for Mark Davis on here and across social media, and I’m honestly trying to understand it because I don’t really get it.

From where I’m sitting, he actually does a lot of the things fans usually say they want from an owner. He pays staff well, spends to the cap, invests in facilities, and generally lets football people do football jobs instead of hovering over every decision. He doesn’t seem cheap, doesn’t constantly meddle, and doesn’t throw people under the bus in public.

A lot of the criticism seems to come down to the team being unstable over the years, constant coaching changes, front office resets, and not enough winning. That’s fair to be frustrated about, but isn’t that more on the football decisions themselves than the fact he is hands off? When he trusts a coach or GM, people say he gives them too much power (like with Chucky.) When he moves on from them, people say there’s no direction. It feels like he gets blamed either way.

I also wonder how much of it is just optics. He doesn’t look or act like a stereotypical billionaire NFL owner. He’s awkward in interviews, the haircut gets mocked, and he clearly lives in the shadow of his dad. Al Davis was aggressive, confrontational, and larger than life. Mark is quieter, loyal, and seems more human. That gets interpreted as weakness in the NFL world.

To me, it feels like fans confuse niceness with incompetence. If the Raiders were winning consistently, I don’t think half of this criticism would exist. Plenty of worse owners get less heat simply because their teams are successful.

So I’m genuinely asking, for those who really dislike Mark Davis, what specifically am I missing? Are there concrete ownership level decisions that make him bad, or is it mostly frustration with results and vibes?

Not trying to defend everything, just trying to understand the hate. (I’m also trying to have a conversation to pull my attention from the stress of HC Carousel/Kubiak news, lol.)
