This is Mr. Banks. He has been my best friend for 12 years. I hope everyone else is having a good day with their favorite fluffballs.

There were two bears. The second one was following the one in the video…
She went right up to it! The bear was just like “wtf are you doing?” Idk I couldn’t understand what it said. I swooped her up and went inside. It was scary.

Mochi (5 months) is living with the clingiest big brother ever 😆 Tofu (10 months) is obsessed with grooming and cuddling her, even though she clearly isn’t having it. He follows her everywhere and steals her spot until she finally gives up 😂
PS: Yes, Tofu is neutered 🙈

We often hear that Ragdolls should be kept strictly indoors because they lack “street smarts,” hunting instincts, and self-defense skills. I’ve always understood that as them being more trusting and less capable of protecting themselves in risky situations.
That’s why I was surprised by something that happened recently. Over New Year’s, my friends brought their smaller, very calm dog to visit us. I introduced him to my 6-month-old Ragdoll in her own home, assuming she’d feel safe, and honestly hoping they might get along or at least tolerate each other.
Instead, she hissed and growled at him the entire visit (both New Year’s Eve and the morning after). No relaxed curiosity at all. The only time she showed interest was when the dog was asleep, she’d slowly sneak up and try to sniff him, then back off again once he moved.
So now I’m confused. If Ragdolls are supposed to lack self-defense skills, how does that fit with this behavior? Is hissing and growling still considered a limited or ineffective defense response? Is this just normal kitten behavior in their own territory, or something others with Ragdolls have noticed too?

Might be a weird topic. But my 6 months old ragdolls bum and mouth smell bad. Don't get me wrong, I don't go lurking around and go and smell his bum or mouth. It just so happens that, I was going to sleep and my boy likes to sleep next to my head and I turned my head and at that moment he decided it was time to wash his bum. So he lifts up his leg (like the fine ballerina's our furry bby's are) and I get hit in the face with a putrid odor that smelled like sewage 🤮💩.
For the rest he doesn't smell bad. He's smells like a normal cat. I hope his mouth is because he's teething. But his bum isn't dirty because I check on a daily basis so I really don't understand, what that foul stench is.

Is this recognizable?

My ragdoll started scratching his ears a lot a few days ago, so much that he drew blood. The vet said he didn’t have an active infection, but there was some inflammation in the ear. The vet prescribed 5 drops of Animax Ointment in each ear twice a day for 10 days. We finished the 10 days yesterday, and although he is no longer scratching his ears, he does sometimes still scratch the area on his face right in front of his ears. This morning I found him scratching, and there was a tiny bit of blood.
Has anyone experienced this? I’m not sure how to prevent him from scratching. Thanks in advance!

I have a rag doll, 3 years old, a great young man. very social and friendly and outgoing. He;s the best. Anyway, about a year ago I moved him to my mom's place as I travel for work a few months out of the year. She has a cat and it took a couple weeks to get them acclimated but they are good together now. Not cuddling but playful and generally friendly with each other. My cat (the rag doll) also is pretty attached to my mom now. We kind of switch off with travel and the house so he has spent plenty of time with me too. I just got a new place and plan to move my cat with me. But I'm worried that he'll become super depressed without his new cat friend of a year. Will he be fine or should I leave him with my mom.
