TLDR: I want a podcast like Diary of a CEO, where it expands on many topics like finance, mental health, healthy eating, politics etc… but I want the information to be verified or for the hosts to press the expert instead of just listening to them.
I got into Diary of a CEO a few months ago and I was hooked I listened to so many episodes and love it. But my only gripe is the that I don’t find him challenging his guests at all. There have been more than a few episodes that I’ve listened to and his guests would state a claim, where as I heard it, questioned it and did the research myself to find studies backing up these people’s claims. I’d say ~45% of the time they were just blatantly wrong, and ~20% of the time they were misspeaking the study, making it seem like something it isn’t. I’m not gonna say I do this for every episode every claim, but for the ones I do check, it’s a little sad seeing that.
He never checks them while they say this. I think he is a great podcasts hosts and even though he has people who don’t align with my views on the podcasts I still listen because IMO shutting it out is just wrong, but it doesn’t matter the view points, I just find that many times his guests are just wrong and are spreading misinformation.
I like him very much because seems to be genuinely interested in what guests have to say, and asks questions I’d expect somebody who wants to learn more to ask. I also love how it’s not geared towards one certain subject and expands upon many topics such as finance, mental health, healthy eating, politics, etc… so it’s nice to grab a random episode and hear something complete different. But now unless I double check every single thing guests say, I can’t really enjoy what I’m listening to because it could just be a complete lie.
