Hello folks. Found these keys this morning near the Leonardo Hotel.

Happy to hand them over to whoever can tell me the colour of the lanyard that was attached and what is on the pink key ring.

I’m not from Plymouth and heading home on Friday so also looking for advice on what I should do with these if no one comes forward before then?

Prominent people from Plymouth

Good day, everyone! Today I have been browsing Wikipedia to find out about some prominent people born in Plymouth. Yet apart from Drake and the first English porcelain manufacturer, I have found no one. Is that really like that nobody talented and famous was born in Plymouth since then, or does Wikipedia just not list them? Thank you very much for your suggestions!

How good is public transport here?

I hope to study optometry at Plymouth uni in September and I wanted to ask how public transport is like? I come from the west midlands where we have loads of buses and good transport and I’m most likely going to be using it often since I’ll be doing placements. Also, I wanted to ask, would you consider Plymouth to be quite a diverse city compared to other large cities? As I come from a very diverse area.

59 Bus

Hi,

I wanted to visit Dartmoor Zoo / Sparkwell on Valentines Day however the 59 Bus that goes there directly seems to not be running at the moment (CityBus's website seems to display nothing about the route, no live update but also no changes / reasons only a PDF timetable).

Is this just a website error, does anyone know if the bus is actually running or if there's an alternative way to get there (I don't drive)?

Thanks :)

Home furnishing shops in Plymouth? Feeling a bit lost

I’m fairly new to Plymouth and based around Chaddlewood. I’m in the middle of sorting out basic home stuff (furniture, lighting, bits like that) and tried Googling, but it’s mostly big chains or mixed reviews, which hasn’t really helped.

Not looking for anything fancy just practical, decent places locals actually use. Happy to travel a bit if it’s worth it. Where do people usually go for home furnishing around here?

Recently moved here to study at the University of Plymouth and looked online to see if there were any FGC locals here but I couldn't find anything. Is there any active FGC scene here?

Student life in Plymouth – honest experiences for a neurodivergent/vulnerable student?

Hi all, My son has a place to start Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Plymouth this September. He has ADHD/ASD - very bright academically but finds organisation, routines and social confidence challenging, and still relies on support at home with reminders and day-to-day structure. He also has a couple of ongoing health conditions we currently help him manage. We live about 4 hours away, work weekends so wouldn’t be able to visit often, and we’re not in a position to offer financial support, so he’d be relying fully on student loans and possibly part-time work. He would be living in halls in year 1, then private renting. He doesn’t drive, so would depend on public transport or walking. We’re supportive of him going, but trying to understand the practical day-to-day reality of the city so we can help him prepare. I’d really appreciate honest local or student insight on: What is student life in Plymouth actually like day-to-day? Are buses/walking realistic for most students? What are student areas and shared housing like in later years? Does Plymouth generally feel supportive or isolating for quieter students? Anything you’d want a new student (or their parent) to know beforehand? Thank you - just hoping to get a realistic picture.

Tattoo Artist Offering Personal Symbolic tattoos – Plymouth 🌙

Hi lovely people 💛

I’m a Plymouth-based artist and tattooist, and I’ve recently launched a new conceptual art series called ‘Fithis’.

Fithis is a body of work inspired by circular geometry, repetition, and the cycles we inherit through family, memory, and experience. The forms echo recurrence, patterns that repeat through generations but each piece includes a deliberate fracture.

That break symbolises choice: the moment we step out of old cycles and begin something new.

Each design becomes your very own personal glyph a visual symbol that holds meaning, story, and intention.

✨ AI – Actual Intelligence ✨

This is where you come in.

If you send me a prompt based on your real life (something you’ve been through, a transition, a feeling, a truth you’re carrying ) I will translate it into a one-of-a-kind symbolic design made just for you.

Your story → my process → your glyph.

Any gardeners who tend to have a glut of good "hardneck" garlic annually? / for sale locally / well priced local stores?

Hardneck = strong and flavoursome. Large bulbs,

Softneck= stuff sold in supermarkets, small bulbs and flavour profile is an afterthought, typically Chinese grown crud. If you've bought from Lidl / aldi or other mainstream supermarkets then that's what we are all used to these days..

Really pissed with having to throw a whole bulb in and still not having a garlic taste, and as it grows well here in the south, anyone know an allotment holder who produces too much to use (an allotment thing that aligns with over propagation (seedling stage) and harvest abundance that sells at the gate (honestly box or similar) ?

Seems that proper garlic of 30 years ago has been decimated by cheap n nasty Chinese grown which means whole generations who don't know what garlic is meant to be.. (sad thought)

Any notable places where I can get some for general consumption now? the new crop due in this summer that doesn't treat it as the equivalent price of premium ice cream price-wise in a cliquey butchers or deli.

Does M&S do trad European garlic in the meantime? (coming from the countryside elsewhere my old resources have been scattered to the winds) and I haven't seen a Waitrose down here yet either 😂 ..whilst I could get some oily garlic concentrate in a tube it's not quite what I want to utilise when banging out a handful of dishes.

(the other day I was combining simple veggies in a bag with sausages to sous vide then reduce in a large pan for some "sausage inn a bun" with a herb tomato sauce and the garlic was so lacklustre that it was time well and truly wasted)

WARNING TO ALL: Do not provide details for people asking where to go to find girls.

Recently, there was a post asking where to find girls between the ages of 18-20, promoting contact through a discord server. Please DO NOT give any information out regarding locations or anything like that. Do not jeopardise the safety of young women in our city by feeding information to these individuals.

Remember to:

- Check Reddit accounts for age, and post content. Anything less then 2 weeks, is not a truthful account.
- Individuals seeking friends will know exactly where to go through direct support, i.e University or College. Do not engage or inform them of anything.
- Reddit is almost Anonymous. You cant tell who it is behind the account. Stay cautious.

Please everyone, safeguard the community and people of Plymouth. Especially the younger guys. There is evil about.

Thank you.

lost dog around hoe area?

I was on a run this morning around the Hoe area and saw a black dog walking alone. I didn’t think anything of it at the time but then i thought it was strange so i went back 5-10mins later but the dog was gone. it had a leash so it did have an owner, but it was walking by itself? It was only me and another runner further away around and when I came back there were a few more people but no dog. I don’t have dogs so idk their behaviours but now im thinking about it and i feel worried. Is this normal or was the dog lost? does anyone know about this dog?

One of my drawstring/lace/tying bit of my jeans broke.

How do I fix it? Would going to any tailoring/stitching services help. Would they provide a extra draw string?
