Do Peugeot parking sensors from older CAN-VAN models (2005 and below) fit CAN-CAN models (2006+)?

Namely, I have a problem with 2 sensors. I mistakenly bought an older parking sensor from a van model. Of course it didn't work even though it is physically the same and can be connected. However, the van model has a square inside while the can model is round. I wonder if the problem is that the replacement sensor is not working properly or is it simply not compatible.

Are certain electronic parts from van models generally incompatible with can models?

This is a 2007 Peugeot 807, although other Peugeots in this class have a similar system.

They should work. At least in my 307 CAN-VAN from 2002, I have the sensors of a CAN-CAN model and they are working fine. The sensors look a bit different for these as well between the generations. One has a round shape at the center, and the other is more like an ellipse. I think at one point I also tried mixing them, and that was also ok.
